No wonder Auspost is losing money. Package going from a suburb of Sydney to Sydney but winds up in Melbourne.

Yes, and No.
I'm an only child. I'm also the eldest of four. I'm also the eldest of six. And the second-youngest of seven.
Too confusing for my simple mind.

A friend was an only child from his parents' marriage before they divorced. His mother had 2 children to her second husband. His father had 3-4 children that we know about to different women. The saddest/weirdest part is 2 of these children are <9 months apart. Not that difficult to work out.

One of the reasons why life is complicated today.

This is often onky easily understood by people in the same situation, JohnK. I'll explain it to you some time in person.
i'm enjoying the air of mystery for the moment. :p

This is how to hold a floor! Sage advice on the European experiment as well...

But early to book Xmas? Still planning October here!

Great town with lots of nice bars and restaurants. Sometimes too many young students but Xmas should be ok.

And where else? Consider trips to Gubbio, Assisi etc and further south if you have time to Montipulciano, Montalcino and Pienza, before 4th January when things close down for the post Xmas break, often with arrival of snow and cold.

Book early and get it sorted = family happy. Flexi hotel booking with the benefit of a decent discount ... booking connecting rooms can be a PITA at times.

29 days all up ... 18/Italy, 5/Norway, 4/Paris, 2/HKG. Spent 1993 NYE in Assisi, thanks for the tips as we haven't been to the other places you've suggested.

We were in Yorkshire just before the Tour started there and the whole community was so excited about it coming to their communities.
Thats the closest we have been.
Its on the wish list.

Didn't see you there!:p
Drove the route out oif York about 3 days before the Event and signs up everywhere.A copuple of days before we drove the route into Sheffield and passed one of the teams riding the course.
Love watching it on SBS but in Bangkok at the moment.

Booked our Christmas holidays a few weeks back now - traipsing over to India, so should be interesting. Weather should be a little more bearable too!

Well, Xmas at the Fairmont Lake Louise for PJM and me this year. Squeezing it in between... errr, work... what work? (for me at least ;):p).

We're escaping to Waiheke Island, NZ this Christmas. Flights and accommodation are done - now looking for Christmas Day lunch options.

It'll be a curry for us I think!

By that stage we should be in Udaipur I think. Looking forward to something a little different.

Off to Dubai for us for New Years. Weather should be a little cooler than the 43 of last year. But jetting off next week for a months sojourn to Europe.

I think we'll attempt to try again for the Xmas in Vienna, then Salzburg, Insbruck for NY, and finis off in Venice. But his time without the 5 days/ $32000 hospital stay. ;) Still haven't tried out our YakTrax snow clip-ons yet!
