Hi all,

We have been thinking about a dash cam each of for our cars and are after any advice about what make to buy and were wanting GPS and time stamps but not too difficult to operate?

Could anyone offer advice please?

There is an article in the motoring section of the Fairfax papers today which reminded about getting one.

A few more, one outside the original factory in Zwickau.

An original inside the factory complete with a special number plate.

Found the Trabi photo I was looking for. 2007 at an oldtimer fest on a former Soviet base near Dresden called Koenigsbrueck. Yes it's a Trabi fire engine.

Phew, just sorted the Xmas bookings ... Perugia should be fun

Booked our Christmas holidays a few weeks back now - traipsing over to India, so should be interesting. Weather should be a little more bearable too!

Enjoy, I'll be working and squeezing in a pit stop at Disneyland and skiing in Whistler after New Year :)

Well, Xmas at the Fairmont Lake Louise for PJM and me this year. Squeezing it in between... errr, work... what work? (for me at least ;):p).

We're escaping to Waiheke Island, NZ this Christmas. Flights and accommodation are done - now looking for Christmas Day lunch options.

Envious of you all (and others) of course. But Christmas for me has for the past 20 years been a complete veg-out at the holiday place on the east Coast of Tas. Friends, family invited up; mega BBQ, mega best wines we can get, some TV (not much) and a fair bit of fishing.

.. an planning the next trip!

Love watching it on SBS but in Bangkok at the moment.
Didn't see you there either drron.

I love watching Le Tour every night especially Gabriel Gate.
We were in Normandy & Brittany 3 years ago. Love seeing all those places again.
Makes us want to go back again.

Freezing in Brisbane this morning. Strong cold wind. The wind tunnels don't help.

Um, it's 15C outside with -5 wind chill. Brisk but not exactly mind numbing. Better get out your crocks.
Vienna at NYE was -8 feels like -13 and people were waltzing in the squares at midnight!
It feels less than that standing at Milton Station. There for 15 minutes and ears are now blocked. :(

We free folk told you all that winter is coming!
Yes it's terrifying in Brisbane with Antarctic vortexes. For example, midday everyone was hiding huddled up in their huts around toasted marshmallows... Example images.

Tried to upload images of winter terror in BNE but there must be an AFF filter preventing such outrageous behaviour because all attempts failed...

Ha ha, yes the Antarctic vortex has plunged temperatures to 17 degrees in Brisbane albeit with a chilly breeze. Everything is relative I guess. A relative lives in Canada and the Arctic vortexes bring 10 foot snow drifts.

When i lived in Vancouver, after months of sunless skies and temps hovering around zero, it finally got to 10'c and my flatmates went swimming in the apartment block pool.

Gotta love Canadian winter temperatures where Fahrenheit and Celsius scales cross. ;)

Finally managed to to upload image showing Brisbane's horrifyingly winter conditions.

Anyone have ice on their windscreen this morning?

Nope, but it was covered in rain drops

Sounds like something my wife would do (she's Irish, so that makes sense).
