It has been 70 years since Victory in the Pacific when Japan surrendered effectively ending World War 2 lets hope that the Wallabies can be victorious over the All Blacks, while I will be watching Brisbane Lions beating Carlton at the Gabba.

I wonder if there were any AFFers who backed up after last year, and went back over for another lashing. Poor buggers.

I didn't even have a radio in my first car.

My first car (an Austin A40 - or , in the parlance, alpha 4-zero :mrgreen:) had a valve radio  - I kid you not. The original owner must have been very keen to install what would have been a very opulent extra back when it was new (about 15-20 years before I got it).

I'll start off by saying well done All Blacks, they took that game. But please, first try scored from a turn over when the Black player is clearly on his knees. It's a confidence game and that didn't help. Richie constantly in from the side, but only the Wallabies get pinged for that. At least Richie finished on NZ soil the way he has played his whole career. Enjoy the flight to Paris, Cooper. I get it was a reaction, but 3 tries let in trying to save one. Stupid, and his game and career were on the balance until that point. Who came into replace him?

I bet he/she was a hoot to work for…

I actually worked for her for a year or 2. She wasn't too bad but very, very proper. Husband was a doctor - both their parents were senior directors general of state government departments, the same department in two different states. It's how they met. Also very technically savvy. Plus served on a royal commission.

So she is a cultured lass?

It's funny, I think she's changing since working with us.

Well 1 out of 2 I guess is better than 0 out of 2.

Brisbane Lions beat Carlton, it was a race to see who would finish last.

Only just watching the game now. So I wont comment about the rest. From what I saw you could very easily argue that Whitelock was on his feet and it was a clean turn over.

He was definitely on his feet to start. But he still hadn't got the ball out when his left knee was on the ground/another player. He wasn't supporting his weight when he finally removed the ball.

Not saying that lost the game, but it is one of a number of small turning points.
