A couple of weeks ago couldn't fit into my pants. Now struggling to stop them falling down.

Who said a broken tooth was a bad thing?

I get the Aldi catalogue sent by email every week and find some of the products interesting to say the least. But this has to be the most useless product I have ever seen:

  • Keeps your automatic watch in movement
  • Holds 1 watch
Watchwinder

  • The watchwinder moves your watch in a circular pattern, mimicking human movement.
  • Winder is required for longevity of the watch movement, it keeps it "ticking" to ensure that all moving parts are properly lubricated whilst the watch is not being used.
  • Product can also be used as a storage solution
  • 2 styles available

All for only $79.95. Simply cannot see the people queuing up to get one of these when the doors open.

Actually quite useful if you have automatic (self-winding mechanical) watches - automatic watches' longevity is enhanced by being kept working all the time. If you don't wear an automatic for a couple of days, it stops, but I don't want to have to wear the same watch all the time just to keep it running. I've been shopping around the net for these lately but I want one that can accomodate more than one watch plus that one looks cheap.

The only reason a dog would try those positions is so it can lick its genitals.
That's the old one about humanity. Q: "What separates man from animals." A: "We no longer use our tongues to ..."

Indeed, I usually don't wear my watch over weekends, and have the joy of winding up and setting the time each Monday morning.

Still wouldn't buy whatever the heck that thing is though.

Peak hour public transport. Thank God I can work flexible hours or I'd go nuts before the week's out.

Anyone know when Aldi release the PC box each year as a special?
Need a couple of new systems and their Bang for buck systems... With warranty look worth a go.....

I just asked my wife and neither of us know if our car even has a CD player.

I really, really hope that was a facetious remark.....

CD player means in common speak - compact disk player.

or you could be going very deep and meaningful by making CD player = cassette deck player.

It is Friday after all.

Have you had a look at the Harvey Norman clearance store in your state (one in NSW in Alexandria, thinks there's at least one in Qld and Vic as well somewhere)?

They sell off the last one or two of all items from the company owned departments. For desktop systems prices can be 40-50% below what the specs price should be - as long as you haggle a bit. Then if you can buy Harvey Norman gift cards at a discount with a good points earning CC you're further ahead still.

Need to know your stuff as the sales people often do not - so you can get a very good deal. Steer clear of any of the game aimed systems as the sales people have an aversion to discounting those desktops for some reason.

Two years back I picked up an ASUS I7, 16GB ram, Bluray writer, 1 TB for $710 (before gift card discount that is). (no monitor).

On warranty - now that 'fit for purpose' requirement has been brought in - ie a purchased good must last as long as a reasonable man should be able to depend on - means that a PC that dies too soon now has a very good chance of being replaced/fixed even if after 12 month supplier warranty has ended.

One proviso: you must not have 'obviously' opened up the case and changed peripherals.

BEWARE: Not recommended buying all-in-one desktops - ones where all the innards are contained 'within' the screen. They are often much more expensive to repair (specially designed components to fit into the envelope) and if the screen goes then you have problems. Separate box much better bet.

I hope it was facetious 'cause I thought it very funny and "like"d it. If not intentional, then not so much :-|

I'm not touching that one, BB! :)

One of the girls at work showed me her before/after fitness challenge pictures the other day. In underwear. :o I didn't know which way to look. It was all I could do to say yes you've done really well, well done. Give me a kissy office, it sounds less threatening.

I doubt it ...

FWIW, Those were officially described as "Compact Cassette"; abbreviated as CC.
