I just got here last night. I will be here for 6 days with an overnight trip to Ha Long Bay. Immigration was 'interesting'.

are you doing an overnight cruise on the Bay? we found immigration really easy - stress and drama free

The homework I had done with the visa made it a simple process. It just took an hour of waiting in various queues to get it.

And yes, an overnight cruise tomorrow.

Will probably have a similar experience next week - taking the 2 day slow boat from the northern Thai border up the Mekong river to Luang Prabang in Laos. Been a while since I've done a land crossing betwixt countries!

Is it possible to exit airport to stay in hotel on a 24 hour transit visa in Qingdao, China? Not one of the cities listed for 72 hour transit visa.

No surprises here Queensland's solar energy uptake dims

Solar energy installation in Queensland homes has plummeted by two-thirds from 2505 systems a week in 2012 to just 759 units a week by August 2015, according to figures from the Federal Government's Clean Energy Regulator.

The figures to August 7, 2015 show solar installations in Queensland have dramatically slumped as Queensland Government policy changed.

In other news - the daily supply charge fee for SEQ has increased by 40%. Meaning it now cost $470.48pa before you actual even start to consume electricity.

Southeast Queensland's electricity bills will rise, not drop, in 2015 because of an unreported fixed "per day electricity supply charge" that has been quietly increased from 91.7 cents per day to 128.9 cents per day.

T
his largely unreported price increase amounts to an extra $33.48 per quarter, or an extra $133.92 a year bill rise from these 'fixed price' network price rises.

Who knew these things were still a thing?

...

Spotted tonight at Dick Smith.

There was a "share picture" thing on Facebook some time ago which said, along some lines... if you know the connection between a cassette tape and a pencil, you are old. :)

So, I am old.
