Face palm moment - We have been waiting on a delivery from Boss Air suspension. Picked it up from Post office.
Sent text to my boss - " I have Boss box" his reply - "lucky you"
Gotta love working for people with a sense of humour.

I had to send a letter with a form that I had to fill out to Thai Airways in Zurich.

The cover letter did not specify a return address, nor did it include a reply-paid or self-addressed envelope (though that's a rare practice in this country). So I used the address on the letterhead of the cover letter.

The letter has just come back - "return to sender". A firm email has been sent to demand a correct address.

Make sure your stationary is up to date, people.

Just to clear things up for others, there's a bit of confusion here. Sendai is a city which is on the main island of Honshu, north of Tokyo on the coastline.

There is also a city called Satsumasendai which is located in Kyuushu. The city was formed from merging a number of towns in 2004, one of those towns which was named, confusingly, Sendai.

The nuclear power plant close to Satsumasendai is still called "Sendai Nuclear Power Plant". Apparently, this plant was only just recently switched on again (11 August 2015) after all nuclear facilities in Japan were turned off after the Fukushima incident.

Which matches the information provided by my colleague from Japan. However, that "Sendai" would not be near Fukushima being on a completely different island and all. Certainly much further away than 108 km.

I guess you have the wrong Sendai. It's a long long way from Fukushima, down on Kyushu.

Sorry but I have actually visited the City of Sendai north of Tokyo and have cruised past it's nuclear reactor.
The fukashima reactor is 255 KM north of Tokyo and 108 km south of Sendai.

By the way in 4 days I once again will be in Sendai by taking the Shinkansen north from Tokyo.

Thats very interesting. Thanks for sharing your travel experiences. The case remains that they're not restarting the reactor that you've visited, despite you travelling there by train in four days.

I'm also struggling to understand how this information has any bearing the question at hand. Perhaps I'm missing the link between your travel and the Japanese decision making process for nuclear reactor operations.

It is the Sendai nuclear reactor that is the first to be restarted.It is not far from Fukushima.

The number historically quoted for a chest x-ray was "equivalent radiation exposure as a long haul flight to London (from Aus)".

Possibly, Within the ball park. Dose is highly dependent on route flown and sun activity. The earth's magnetic field acts as a shield. So polar regions have higher dose due to the magnetic field being weaker in that area the equator has lower dose. A chest X-ray is probably around 20 microsievert. Whereas MEL-SIN-LHR is estimated at 65 microsievert.

After 10 years of buying and selling on eBay I finally got caught out this week. :shock:

1. I buy item
2. Item does not arrive after one month
3. I contact Seller
4. Seller says that item was returned to him undelivered and offers to repost
5. I ask if he can send it via a tracked postal service
6. Seller agrees if I pay additional US$7
7. I agree to the US$7 charge
8. He sends email address for Paypal
9. I send US$7 to him via Paypal
10. Seller closes out the issue on eBay by refunding the original payment
11. Seller Keeps US$7

Quite a clever little scam because eBay washes its hands of it because the $7 was not part of the sale on the site...which leaves me having to deal with Paypal. I wonder if this happens often, my first thought when told that the item was returned undelivered was that the seller hadn't actually sent it. I thought I was being cute seeking a trackable delivery method, but he/she was a bit cuter.

Of course the seller has no interest in responding to any communications from me and Paypal is about as useful as, I was going to say a chocolate teapot but that can easily be substituted by eBay.

I'll get the money back by Amex chargeback but it rather defeats the purpose. I suspect Amex will simply credit my account with the US$7 and not worry about the follow up. It will be cheaper than employing resource to chase the $7. The seller gets away with it effectively.
