ALL window/doors have fly screens, (even the Man-cave) but that does not seem to stop those tiny little S***ts of bugs getting in at night.

And how on earth do they manage to get into completely enclosed light fittings! Its like their eggs must be implanted into the glass!

As seen in a Coles Supermarket in Melbourne today...... Easter is coming. !ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1452750219.616732.jpg

Yep. Easter sales reported here well over a week ago.

Yes. True. And recently the Orang-utans at Adelaide's Monarto Zoo openly mourned the death of a female in their troop.

Fascinating animals, native to Sumatra and Borneo only. Mostly loners. A group of orangutans is called a "congress" as i found out.

Pretty excited that I had two of my quilt designs accepted for publication yesterday, including one to a magazine in the UK. Got some crazy sewing to do to meet the deadlines.

First thing I thought of was "Woohoo! Next trip to the UK can be classified/written off as a business expense" ;)

Well done.

That's very sad, I wasn't aware of that bond. I guess some people will be now be worrying about that clip going international and Australia's Kangaroo meat export market being adversely affected. California I think has banned the importation of kanga meat and maybe fur/skin products too?

Hope not. I've already got my eye on a nice pair of Kangaroo steaks @ Lidl for Australia day in 12 days :)

For some reason Europe (Especially Southern) have never really embraced fly screens.

Think because winter tends to be the season they more so cater for over here. Much older place in general so guess it stems from that. Mainly sash windows over here, or if they are windows then open (on a hinge as opposed to sliding, like Australia) then they can often open in multiple ways, e.g. rock forward.

Unfortunately it has to be there by June 10, and we arrive in London on June 25 (will you be around?).

I assume you mean "Tudor" style - hard to imagine a house in Adelaide dating back to the 1500s :D:D

Pedant.
1927 though. Pretty close for Aussie standards.

 I did think the same thing, just didn't say it

Nothing booked yet, will mark the date in the diary :)

That's young. (is tudor even correct, surely californian bungalow or perhaps art deco)

My office is in a building that's 150 years old. One of our departments is older than your house. ;)

Highlight of the week - going to our company's intern drinks and being mistaken for an intern by someone who has worked for us for 2 years. I must be doing something right? Or maybe she thought it was a mature age student.

Lowlight of the week - hangover drinking too many waters at the David Bowie tribute show last night.

Or it was just her way to start a conversation with you.

All this talk about windows...

... have we all got fly screens, or is this a Queensland thing only?

No, you don't have to say if it's CrimSafe or not....

Our current house didn't have any screens when we bought it. Putting in screens was one of the first things we did. Although there is one set of bi fold doors that were quoted at $18k alone for the doors - the same as the rest of the whole house!!
Our old house had them on windows, but there were french doors at either end of the house, with no screens at all. We ended up using lace curtains as pseudo-screens on those doors when we had them open.

Theres a thread in the meetings area about dinner that night... I have a friend over there that we plan to have dinner with, and she and her hubby are quite familiar with J (and status runs apparently) so it would be a good fit.
