Sigh. Waiting for Qantas to deliver a case that didn't arrive on the same flight as MasterP this afternoon from Sydney. ETA 9-midnight and someone has to sign. MasterP is at the Fringe with partner, MrP tired from a weeks work in NZ and time change.

After the discussion I have read here I am thinking that might be a better option. I have a dual battery system in the car, so an inverter might just manage for the three hours* or so that I will need the projector each time.
*Based on a 100Ah battery running a 300W projector.

Need. I am running a training session in a rather out of the way place.

I'm sure you're doing the research yourself, but a couple of things to consider with inverters:
1. Avoid the modified sine wave mosfet type - they're really only suitable for lights or basic appliances, not a laptop or projector. Pure sine wave (mosfet) or most preferably, a pure sine wave inverter with toroidal transformer technology. (Latronics - Australian made - excellent quality gear)
2. Do your sums carefully: Inverters actually draw quite a high amperage - full load on a 300W inverter will flatten a 100Ah battery in 100 minutes, not 3 hours.
3. Over-estimate your power draw: converting 12V DC to 240V AC is not particularly efficient - allow for up to a 20% loss, so if your projector is drawing 300W, allow 360W - you might need a 400W model minimum - better to have slightly more power available than not quite enough.

When I grow up I would like to have friends and family.

In the interim the guest list at my upcoming "significant Zero number birthday party" is looking to be mostly employees of the restaurant it will be held at.

Time to kill the party idea I think.

You obviously forgot your friends on AFF ( "Awwwwww....")

Penegal just mention Krug and we will be there in an instant.
Do celebrate 20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90 and 100.
Start young as we have been losing our older friends at a rate of more than one a year.
At 95 my godfather told me all his friends were gone so party early.

I have celebrated 6 of those...only 3 to go

Travel to another city as a status run and see who turns up for dinner with you

Awwww, thanks

That would probably triple the guest list :p

cove - the per head cost of the function can go up with fewer attendees, so maybe Krug should be on the menu
