You would have saved ~$4 on admission at the "Stockman's hall of fame" at Longreach. .. still overpriced. ..

I used mine to get a Senior concession at the Beaulieu Motor Museum. They gave my wife a concession too, although she is and looks much younger than me.

What benefits ??? I have one and I haven't had any benefit from it !!
Electricity discount, public transport bus pass. Car registration discount. Two for one at garden centre tours! In Europe, sometimes you can wing free museum admissions.

Plus ability to flash it and whinge about things! (Seniors' card that is.)

Penegal is saying that a big party celebrating one's own birthday can be seen as a bit self-serving. Or just an excuse to partay!

Something like that. (Two separate thought processes JohnK). I was contemplating anecdotal stories of some people can go overboard with birthdays, so that they "take the fun away" from the party and turn into a "Me Monster"... e.g. "Everything is about Me, It's all about Me, blah blah".

My last birthday party was ~9/10 years ago. Most people enjoyed themselves but I had a pretty average time.

I tried to do a party ~4/5 years ago for the "x5" (Five) birthday, but my health was bad, so didn't do anything whatsoever. Fortunately I am not dead, but it could have been my last birthday (and several of the years since).

Now I am coming up to the "x0" (Zero) birthday, so I was thinking that I could do something to celebrate surviving the decade, and use it as chance to catch up with people, and celebrate and further enhance some friendships, etc.

... But it's becoming a bit of a pain to organise anything at all - I don't have that many people to invite, and most wouldn't show up, venues need confirmed numbers, etc.... I could just have a drink at home and save the stress. Or go fly someplace on my own.

But not all Seniors cards are equal.Although we both have a QLD Senior's card I get a lot more discounts than mrsdrron.

Forget everyone else.

Go and have a game of golf on your birthday. Or a bottle or 3 of Krug....

Did someone say Krug?

You're learning JohnK - now that is a good idea. Best place to buy in Oz?

I have it on good authority that someone who goes by the name of Cruiser or Bruiser or something like that has inherited some Changi dollars and is going to buy you a bottle in SIN this week.
