The anti vaccination group must have never seen the children who suffer from the consequences from an avoidable disease.

Not until it happens to them.

To put some perspective on this all, has it ever been established a case (or cases) where people have been immunised but have still suffered from the disease in question (and not due to lack of a booster, i.e. the vaccine was ineffective)?

Happens all the time, it maybe due to cold chain integrity issues( undocumented) also other things like whooping cough in adults due to immunity from earlier vaccines being non existent ( after 10 years)

The father deserves all he gets, he kidnapped the children first. He refuses to return them.

Very poor of channel 9 being complicit in this misadventure.

That's an understatement. If they did indeed pay for the botched effort, that's a decision that would have to have been made at a higher level than the 60 Minutes executive producer, who's only been in the job a couple months anyway.

It beggars belief. If they ran that idea past lawyers and everyone still thought it was feasible, that's just insane.

I thnk it it is very common - parents preventing their kids from seeing the other parent. More commonly it is the mother.

No parent should be able to use their children like that without serious consequences.

This is a very difficult area and requires the wisdom of Solomon. Even then the story would have landed Solomon in hot water.

If you are referring to the Beirut debacle, sadly, he won't get anything as apparently he is very highly connected in a 'corrupt' country. Also, the mother has a baby here in Aus. Terrible situation.

Indeed that is my reference. Australian law also doesn't apply over there. Regardless I prefer to take a balanced view rather than engage in bashing of one side or the other. Given the corruption aspect, acting outside the law seems to be the best way to go. Besides aren't some of the children girls. I support anything that stops them facing a life of servitude.

I think we have bigger problems right now with the increasing numbers of people not being vaccinated. Certainly anti-vaccination is taking a bigger stage these days, and not just the reports of people who now claim they regret not getting (or their kids) vaccinated.

Then again, we have plenty of health-related issues which are pushing for either wide societal ridicule and/or government regulation in order to "set right". For example, the "no jab" laws related to immunisation, or "sugar taxes" in order to address rising occurrences of diabetes and obesity.

If you want some light-hearted relief on this subject, the Onion has it covered

It's my right to decide what eliminated diseases come roaring back

Having DPO as my home airport sees all of my travel start and finish in a Dash8 - only a short segment but I like them and the service offered.

I would rather travel on a Dash 8 than a 717. More personal and friendly

Wonder what Nine Entertainment Co. board, legal advisors, insurers think about this. Maybe network can report on this debacle themselves.

Can you book a Qantas code share flight from Eastern States of LOTFAP to EUROPE? Ie having a QF flight number.

Indeed, IB /AB / AY also (I was thinking to uk not eu).

QF do not offer it - I guess they don't see enough benefit to them in selling such, as most pax would be on a "one world" fare such as a rtw so they don't see a need.
