A lot to do with marketing BS in the increasingly unscientific world in which we live, methinks . Belief systems are extraordinary in their reach and impact .

Surely it's just going to be an hour of sycophantic, self-serving, sympathy-sucking drivel?

I'm more surprised the other channels haven't jumped onto this to really drive the stake into Channel Nine, which is what they did for a while when you had all the current affairs shows wars.


Imagine if they had tried this out in a country where the penalty could have included some sort of corporal punishment. That might be the first incident (or at least in a long time) where an Australian media representative has been severely injured or killed on assignment (albeit quite possibly a foolish one).
