I am back home after a 2 week trip to Europe, it would have been nice to have got some sleep on the final flight home last night as I am feeling it now.

The heat; did anyone notice how hot it is in Brisbane at the moment; I need to book flights to NZ for next week if for any other reason to escape the heat.

The Qantas skybed I hate it; I couldn't make it go flat; maybe I couldn't drive the thing after the excesses of the lounge; so many buttons on the control panel give me the new SQ J product any day.

I could not see the appeal of Hong Kong; nice to visit at least once but I am not in any hurry to go back.

The new Qantas lounge in HKG not bad; but the Cathay lounge near gate 2 still beats it.

Ryanair; they got us there and back so no complaints with them, the check in staff in Italy; hmm they need a bit more training; so slow to check people in.

BA Terraces lounge T5 North was again nice.

Found something odd today. I was going to Woolies and wanted some extra cash out.

I used the self-serve checkouts and when paying, accidentally put a lower amount than the bill.

It went through and then said '$x remaining' and I realised my mistake and just swiped again. It came out as two transactions...

Anyway just putting that out there in case we get another Amex promotion like last time!

Shopping in Perth on a Sunday:!: My god what about Church, do the police know the shops were open.

Also do you think Amex will do it again:shock: I doubt it.

There's a small number of 'tourist' zones where shops can open on Sunday's. Woolies has a store in the CBD, for example, that can open on Sundays.

I also discovered that Westfields are open every Sunday until Xmas. I am currently in PER until I fly home Wednesday afternoon to Sydney.

It was very weird shopping on a Sunday at Carousel. Spoke to the check out person and it seems they are on double and a half pay on Sundays so they will be loving it.

Woolies has TWO stores in the CBD that are allowed to open on Sunday but only between 11am - 5pm.

Yes, I had forgotten about the newish one (probably as I have never been to it, or maybe it was the stupid building name its in :))

And if Mal wants to be my shopping buddy next week the door is open. :D

May be a no-go for catch-ups this week. Have managed to come down with a cold/flu so will be couped up in bed for at least a few days while my body tries to sort it out.

Oh, and the temp in my area is due to have a minimum of 1 degree tomorrow morning (Tue morning), and even at 9am, it will still only be 2 degrees they claim...

I don't like the sound of either of those. :(

Get better soon. I recommend chicken soup and lemon tea (without milk or sugar of course).

Thanks. Yeah, I wouldn't wish this one on anyone - more of a flu than a cold. Still, will help me lose a little weight ;)

If I wanted Tamiflu, they'd probably issue it for me (and it would help recovery), but don't buy into the Swine Flu stuff anyways, and If I've naturally picked it up I want my body to recover properly.

Then again, it could be any number of similar complaints.
