What more is there to say? Mal, thank you very much for guiding us around London. The Slug and Lettuce, Jamie's Italian and Papadoms were all great restaurants; thanks also for taking the hard part out of haggling for a Brick Lane deal, and doing it for us (two rounds of drinks and 30% off is pretty good!) Aaaahhh... food, glorious food - oh and Oliver! at Drury Lane was excellent.

Bundy Bear, thanks for catching up on our arrival from Paris. Hope you have a good flight back over; see you across the Tasman.

Now off to bed for me....OMG o'clock wake up for the train tomorrow.... :-|

Thanks to their continued incompetence and buggy high-end handset releases, Nokia has just lost another 14 year customer and former loyal advocate. Roll on Android.

Nokia has the distinction of being one of the two companies I will no longer do business with. I agree with your assessment.

Their 'care line' is anything but. Their handsets readily develop faults. They are organisationally incapable of provide adequate warranty support to their products.

(NB - Telstra Customer Service may be cough - but they haven't yet pushed me over the edge like Nokia achieved!)

Am guessing the other company is Sony Ericsson? Nothing can be worse than Sony Ericssons! I used to love SE products as they're so colourful and pretty, with awesome speakers. But since my last handset I've been having issues with software crashes, screens going blank etc. Identical issues with the current handset. Twice bitten, thrice shy - my current SE handset shall be the last SE I will ever use.

Come Dec I shall be shopping for an iPhone or BB. :)

Well it's not quite internet on a plane, but I'm currently on the train sitting in First Class on the way to Edinburgh and should have internet coverage for the whole trip; how cool.

Yeah, the Internet on some of the buses and trains over here is pretty cool !

And if Mal wants to be my shopping buddy next week the door is open. :D

Not sure that spending hours shopping is my thing - but happy to catch up for a coffee during one of your shopping breaks.

Let me know if you're interested. Can't do Wednesday (and of course Wed night is already sorted!), but any other day should be fine.

Coffee sounds good, brunch even? :) There are a few really nice Antipodean-style coffee shops around like Flat White and Lantana. YGPM.

Oh, and QF009 - if you are here next Saturday, there is always the Amex VIP shopping day (Where Oxford and Regent Streets are closed to traffic and various festivities occur).

Shop West End VIP Day
Shop West End VIP Day - West End Traffic Free Christmas Shop Event,

If you had a UK Issued Amex, you'd also get double points for purchases made there.

Yeah received an invite for one of their events. Unfortunately I leave for Berlin on Saturday. :( On the upside there are a few really good sample sales on when I'm in London (apart from the Paul Smith one which happened last week - should've asked one of y'all to shop on my behalf :p).

Coffee sounds like a good idea if you both don't mind me joining in. I haven't any firm plans for Wednesday 2 Dec anyway at the moment, although checking out of one hotel and moving bags has been penciled in somewhere.

Mal isn't free on Wednesday according to his post. But I'm most happy to go somewhere for coffee or dinner prior to the evening's festivities. YGPM. :)

Mattress runs? I thought you may have learned lesson after Cairns. ;) Oh well....

During the day on the 2nd (lunch), the current plans are catching up with family, but that of course might get moved around...

You've got to laugh sometimes at the stupidity of companies.

Here's an advert currently on the Amex Website front page:

amexbluesky.jpg

The ad references the following link: https://www212.americanexpress.com/...toid=524550104dc15110VgnVCM100000cef4ad94RCRD

which just for clarity does say:

50% less points offer: Only available if you apply and are approved for the Blue Sky Credit Card and book a flight by 01 Jan 2009.

... if they could turn back time ... and check their grammar (not that I should be throwing stones ;) ) !

oh and Oliver! at Drury Lane was excellent.

Don't you mean "RyanAir Theatre" (based around the seating arrangement. No legroom, no recline, and staff spruiking just about everything.

Hope your time in Edinburgh has been good.
