If they all moved to an island or place where food was not as easy to access as it is in America..... I'm sure the work required to get the food would stop the metabolism slowing?
Now that would knock off at least one of the many holes in their theory\study.

Well interesting results from the football (soccer) tonight in the UK. Best you watch your recorded game if you want the details...
Don't follow the soccer too much but good to see Leicester win the English Premier League. Any other result would have been totally wrong.

Why totally wrong?

Feetbull is a sport where tiny things can have big influence on results. .. a few more of these tiny things and West Ham may have done it ...

Leicester deserved to win the title. They have been the best team by far all year. They have been the most consistent team on a shoestring budget. Good on them.

West Ham can win the title next year....

I have been to The Valley and sung about the Red, Red Robin, and to the Emirates and sung The Wonder of You, to the City Ground singing to the tune of Mull of Kintyre. But nothing quite gives you goose pimples as much as being at the Boleyn ground with the totally incongruous sight of the descendants of Green Street hooligans singing "I'm forever blowing bubbles".

Still a paid up Gooner though, despite some major disappointments.

Tax cut of $6 for workers earning more then 80k+ will cost the budget 4 billion dollars

Nahsayers. Blasphemers! I can now afford to go to the new coffee shop, which is $0.20 more for the large, which is also larger than my regular coffee shop now that the new owners have decreased the cup size.

win win win win win win

The cost of coffee is something which is an outrage.

I remember when $1.80 could get you a cup of coffee at any of the good / trendy coffee shops. Nowadays it's $3.8 / $4.0 / $4.5. In Perth I paid $4.80 in City Square, and it wasn't even any good.

Coffee inflation is far more than the CPI.

Inflation measure CPI takes a completely new meaning (coffee price index)

Edit: Or Cappuccino Price Index

The risk of an overpriced coffee that tastes burnt is precisely why I don't bother with this single origin, pre-masticated in the stomach of a Babylonian sea otter rubbish. It's all about the service, if the guy at my regular place sees me walking in his direction my brew will be waiting when I get there.

It's not just coffee. It's most things.

If inflation is supposed to be ~1.5% I am not sure how increases to some services can be justified.

I have been in this apartment for 2.5 years. The power bill with AGL was between $125 and $150 a quarter. They recently went to monthly billing and I am paying $62.5 a month. Nothing has changed in my energy consumption. In fact according to the bill I am consuming slightly less than last year.

All I have is a fridge that is running at all times. Think it is 420k/w per year. Aircon that is used occasionally, a fan used in summer occasionally, a microwave and hot plate that don't get used often and the lights which are used only at night time for a few hours. I spend 5 days here and 2 days in Sydney. I was missing for 16 days in March and the bill didn't change.

Should I be paranoid? There is something seriously wrong here.
