Seems I'm about to become the sole breadwinner courtesy of a major media organisation's redundancy program. At least we had a little practice while the wife was on maternity leave. Bit overwhelming though.
Ooh that's a bit of a shock to the system. Hope things work out. Things like that throw a lot of your planning for the future out the window.

The biggest plane in the world is landing in Perth this coming weekend and I head back east on Tuesday. Bugger :-(

Actually I don't know what I mean. Think the '/' doesn't belong there so should be 90 kWh per month.

90kWh just means 90kw used in one hour.
Typically electricity use is billed quarterly and the bills often quote average daily use as kWh. This simply means the average energy used in that one 24 hour period is measured as though it was consumed on one hour.

So if your average daily electricity consumption is 90kwh. It means 90kw was used in one hour, or also 3.75kw used in 24 hours.

The expression in kWh is just to standardise the description of electricity consumption.

Still way too confusing for me.

What does "Energy consumption 185 kWh per year" mean on a fridge? That is the small bar fridge in hotel staying in now. Think my fridge uses ~400 kWh year.

I believe I am charged ~90 kWh per month which is what I was basing my calculations. Still no idea what they mean.

185 kWh per year means in one year that fridge uses 185kWh. Or on average 20W per hour - equivalent of the electricity use of a 20W lamp left on continuously for 1 year.

90kWh for a 30 day period = same as leaving a 125W lamp burning continuously for 30 days (90000/24/30)

Excellent! Must plugin my VPN so I can watch SBS.

I know this is slightly on topic, but I am about to have my first domestic flight this year, SYD-MEL.
(to connect to QF 9)
Latest date of the year for me (that I can recall) for my first dom flight. John.

And hello friends again. That first flight mentioned above was delightful in 2 Fox. Sat next to a nice CL Gent who shall remain nameless for privacy reasons, he recently ran a bank, and we both have lads the same age. Nice conversation over a wide variety of topics as you can imagine.
Have just completed segment 4 of 5 on the same ticket (48 hours later), and I will have my 2nd IB flight in about 10 years later this afternoon MAD-TFN. I have been in Spain more recently, but some friends will recall the experience was troubling - thank heavens for the AFF/FT community that helped!

Thanks so kindly for the clicks friends, the LRE sounds like it was a wonderful do, and of course, best wishes to the newly weds!!

Happy Travels. John.

kWh is total energy used.
kW/h is the number of kW used per hour (/h). For example 90kW/h for 2 hours would be 180 kWh

Not exactly but close enough. A kilowatt hour (kWh) is the energy equivalent to sustain 1 kW for 1 hour. So 90 kWh would be the equivalent of drawing 1 kW for 90 hours. Or if that was for a day 3.75 kW per hour for 24 hours, as per the numbers you've provided.

But I doubt 90kWh is the daily consumption. My household of 4 with children lighting the place up like a christmas tree uses around 15 to 20 kWh per day.

I miss those large electricity bills ever since our two sons left home.
They still love to store stuff at our home because they can.

JohnSydney2000 - I hope Spain treats you better this year than in the past.
