The totally off-topic thread

If a two minute delay and the subsequent result of that is of such an importance to some, glad I don't have to live in such a fast paced world.:)

Meanwhile I'll make sure I plan extra time into my schedule to allow for any inconveniences caused by possible delays due to safety and security issues, never know, I may even get a couple of 'red' lights on the way to the airport that I didn't plan on. (sarcasm mode off)

I know this was discussed a while ago, but I have only just tried the new Arnott's BBQ shapes.

They. Are. Awful.

That is all.

Reminds me that I like Tyrrells crisps, bought them in the UK and had previously bought some here in CBR that were made in the UK, liked those as to be expected as they came out of the same factory.
I recently bought some at a major supermarket here in CBR with out giving it much thought and they were not the same, I was very disappointed with them, completely different taste, then I looked at the packet closely and these new ones were made in the Yarra Valley. Won't buy them again.

Seasoning coverage? Change in the seasoning mix?

I haven't eaten Arnott's Shapes for such a long time.....

The taste is horrible. I won't be buying them again, and I have submitted feedback to Arnotts to that effect.

Had to open a bottle of red to get rid of the taste. :)

I smile, do what they ask and I'm on my way, I'm certainly not going to let it ruin my day.
Explosive test doesn't ruin my day. I feel it's a waste of time. My little game is to stand at the belt until someone is chosen then rush past avaoiding the test. Sometimes we play a game who is going to be the slowest leaving the belt. I can search my pockets for a long time. That's my fun.

Oh dear, so you are prepared to waste time at the belt, just so you don't have to waste time being swabbed, I rest my case........

I used to worry about such things and wait and wait and wait.

These days, I go with the flow, often with a quick dusting of my bag and sooner then if I had tried to avoid by waiting.

Agree.

I did three checks at AU airports this last weekend - none of them took more than 30 seconds to a minute. Just followed the belt, shoes and bag swab and on my way. it would take me more time to work out how to avoid it than to just do it.

Full bag checks are another matter. Those are annoying. I might have been known to slow down just a tad so the person in front gets picked :)

Most times don't have to wait too long. A lot of people are in a hurry and love to spend time explosive tested.

Looks like we need a thread on security explosive test avoidance. Way too many posts that are way too on topic!

I heard people complain years ago that the bbq shapes flavour changed when the factory was moved from Melbourne to Sydney.

Too many food companies mucking with established tastes.

I ordered two pizzas from Dominos recently... the $5 "Value Pizza" range.

Absolute tripe (can't use the "s" word here). Minimally covered in toppings - including cheese - lacked flavour and lame crust. The $6.50 Woolworths baked-in-store pizza tasted at least 10 times better than the effort, and that's saying something.

I wrote into Dominos with a rather trite complaint. They asked me if the store I bought from had followed up with me. When I answered in the negative (because I didn't hear a peep out of them), I was offered a voucher for a free 2 pizzas, garlic bread and soft drink combination. This one allows ordering better pizzas than the $5 range, but all said and done, one finds some difficulty in complaining about something they got for free.......

According to Dominos, they had to change recipes for Australia because people complained. Looks like nothing has changed.
