The totally off-topic thread

Means an overnight extended stay in NZ and very late arrival into Adelaide on Saturday. Who needs weekends? :(. I trust they will not charge a change fee! Then they might really find out.

"For your convenience we have cancelled your flight and popped you onto a flight that leaves smack bang in the middle of the working day".

Weird thing is that just 2 hours earlier he received an 'upgrade auction' offer for this very flight.

Jetstar once asked me to prove I had to be at work at 4:30pm. I laughed, then realised they were serious, then asked them if they [-]were stupid[/-] wanted a copy of my contract (whoops I only thought the stupid thing).

Totally delayed flight(one and half hours) back to Melbourne today due to really severe weather in Melbourne. In the QF club Adelaide. enjoying a few late night G & T"s less the T lol

Doh! I landed in ADL at 8:00pm could've said hi, except for SWMBO waiting in the cold to be picked up.

Similar experience. When I was put through (only a few minutes wait after all on premium line) I explained it was a work trip and clearly 2.45pm wasn't happening. After all we could have chosen that flight in the first place. I was then offered a 5.15pm flight. Really? Auckland traffic is notorious for blockage with just a small incident so would need to leave at 2.30pm to be sure. And again we could have booked that time in the first place.

It's been a scramble. The other traveller had to be in Adelaide early Saturday so they rebooked on Emirates Friday night. MrP couldn't extend his stay at the hotel as it was booked out and now moves to the Airport Hotel on Friday night.

Which bit of 'Cannot get to the airport at that time, that's why I booked the flight I did' do they not understand?
I trust that QF is providing the o'night accommodation.

Nope. Probably moot I guess as he needed to overnight in Mel anyway because of no Adelaide connection.

QM2 is sailing again. :p

But bet you can carry your guns!
SIL sent a photo from Colorado where the sign on a door asks people to be considerate and advises that 'open carry of handguns is prohibited within this building'. I take it then that a concealed weapon is fine.

And yes I see QM2 is out on the water again - would love to be on her.

Great service from Apple.

I had a macbook which was purchased in Dec 2014 - which comes with 1 year warranty. Took it to apple store in Sydney suburbia. Test confirmed thunderbolt port non functional and also confirmed out of warranty status. However, Apple Genius said that as it was less than 2 years old it would be repaired under "Australian Consumer Law".

The entire logic board had to be replaced.

Caveat was that the warranty would be void if there were signs of damage from dropping, water was detected and the logic board would cost AUD$616.

It is impossible to get laptop batteries shipped from my usual source - macsales.com due to restrictions on Li Ion on aircraft. The apple replacement cost is approx AUD$200 incl labour. this is cheaper than importing a similar battery from OS (if it were allowed).

Just purchased tickets for OW observatory ..... found this in the FAQs ... lol they actually had to put it in writing.

Can I bring my licensed firearm?

There are absolutely no firearms permitted.

Provided feedback to Qantas about the false advertising of selling a 8:05 pm flight as a dinner flight. This morning My Flights app says it's changed to a snack flight for next week.
