Just wondering about US tipping culture...when flying on US airlines, domestically or internationally, do cabin crew expect tips when they provide customers food/drinks or service?
In the UK I wear TM Lewin / Charles Tyrwhitt shirts. Good value (Around £20-£25 for non-iron when on special)
In Australia I generally bought Van Heuson from Myer, but thought they were pretty exy really. I'd usually wait for sales and buy shirts in bulk
It's a no. Or at least that is my understanding.
Learnt today that Learner Drivers no longer have a driving test or need to learn from a registered trainer to get their P licence. Simply have a log book of 75 hours signed off eg by licensed parent, have L for 12 months and you are good for a P.
Edited:
(Maybe jury is out on this?)

I don't think I've told people here for a while how much I hate cancer but it is following me around like a stray...
Just had a phone call from my best friend who lives in MEL. One of our mutual friends in MEL (aged early 50's) who got late onset Leukaemia had a bone marrow transplant (but it failed) and now the follow up Chemo has similarly failed. She's not going to have further treatment and has been given a month to live.
Fortunately for me, I have a trip planned to MEL for early next week and I have a late flight home, so I will make the effort to see her on my way back to the airport (she's at Essendon).
I HATE *@#$^%&* CANCER :evil::evil:
Well this post could go in the TV thread or the Cat thread or even here, so here I go.
ALF has died and the cats of the world are now safe.
Well not ALF but the actor who wore the suit has died.
Yesterday I learnt about transient synovitis, after BabyGM woke up and discovered she couldn't crawl/move without a lot of pain. Scary. Thankfully nothing some doctorly advice, panadol, nurofen, and patience can't fix. Couple days and she should be good as new.
+ 1 - thankfully neither of mine had itHad to get into DrGoogle just to look that one up GarrettM. Good as new is a really good concept when it comes to children.
On June 4, the satirical news site the Science Post published a block of "lorem ipsum" text under a frightening headline: "Study: 70% of Facebook users only read the headline of science stories before commenting."
Nearly 46,000 people shared the post, some of them quite earnestly - an inadvertent example, perhaps, of life imitating comedy.
Now, as if it needed further proof, the satirical headline's been validated once again: According to a new study by computer scientists at Columbia University and the French National Institute, 59 percent of links shared on social media have never actually been clicked: In other words, most people appear to retweet news without ever reading it
6 in 10 of links shared on social media have never been read
So are you a poster who hasn't read the article you're linking to?
What I find frustrating on many sites including AFF is the large numbers of links posted with no explanation other than the headline.
Surely if the article was really any good and you had actually read it then a precis of the information is essential?
