I should clarify that while you don't expect someone to be on the wrong side of the road, it's the unexpected that causes accidents. I didn't actually check left before starting to accelerate. Big learning for me to make sure I check for the unexpected, like cars blowing through red lights as well.

I'm fuming.

I'm annoyed.

I'm medhead. Pleased to meet you both.

Bicycles are allowed on footpaths here in the ACT though the government website says in NSW there is an age limit of 12. We are in the middle of a 2 yr trial where cyclists are permitted to ride (slowly) across pedestrian crossings.

As the mother of a cyclist I'm glad your accidents didn't have worse outcomes. Daughter has been clipped by cars on several occasions when in the bike lane. Mostly the car drivers didn't realise how fast she is going.

Re: Army coup Turkey

One wonders what the Turkish Govt is going to do with the 9000 police, soldiers, judges etc, detained as traitors. Need a big prison for that lot. With all those security forces off the street, Turkey will be another target for IS. It is a worry.

Will be standing there with Erdogan waving my finger ....... I had no idea how I did it but a coup is a coup even if it was planned before hand.
JT you mean that you haven't let marki know they are off to Turkey ready or not.:p:shock::lol:

It is a real worry that lists of those to be arrested were obviously ready before the event as most had been rounded up before the Government announced the coup was over.
Also Turkey was rapidly going down the list of countries re press freedom-
https://freedomhouse.org/report/freedom-press/2016/turkey

The Reporters Without Borders rates Turkey as 151/180 in press freedom 27 places behind Zimbabwe.and that is pre-coup-
