There needs to be a better name then. Elective means choice - there is none here.

MrP has spent the day in Adelaide's carpy Immigration hole. AirNZ flight lost power and computers and they couldn't even get the luggage off the previous flight. Of course there are no clubs airside. They did not provide any food. Arrived at 9.30am and only just now cancelled. This is for work. They then had to go down and get luggage and then head back upstairs and hopefully rebook the one flight tomorrow. A cough day.
Hopefully will be better tomorrow  Fingers and toes crossed.

Now rebooked for 10am tomorrow. Stuck with Hotel fee paid for tonight. Had to cancel appointments. Costing the business around $3000 in income loss and hotel fee we can't recoup.

Hydro where the water only flows down to generate and is not pumped back up hill = low polluter

Hydro where brown coal-fired power is purchased to pump the water back up-hill to the high storage (responsible for high 90s% of total electricity generation) = 95% as bad a brown coal-fired.

Again WHOLE of FUEL CYCLE. Some small operational matter does not represent the whole fuel cycle - the cost of all that concrete and construction, etc. etc. etc. Besides operationally the snowy system only needs to pump water back when there is a lack of rainfall. They cannot possibly do that all the time.

I don't know about coughpy days. But I was just driving home from the city when I ran into a guy on a pushbike who was riding on the wrong side of the road. Turning left, check to the right for cars, see a space, look left and accelerate at the same time, there is this push bike right in front of me. ARGH!!! BRAKES!!! Bang! That was pretty coughpy.
Thank everything I didn't kill him. He seems ok, and starts walking back to a house about 4 up the road on that same side. faded home made looking tattoos, it's his mate's bike, he needs it to get to work, "We don't need to involve the police", just give us some money to get the bike fixed, just let us claim against your insurance...
Needless to say 90 minutes later I've finished reporting it to the police. Even more coughpy.

But the poor bloke seemed nice enough and I'm very glad I didn't kill him.

There is always choice.

Similar thing to me happened a year ago. Turning left from a carpark on to a street. Look left for pedestrians and right for pedestrians and cars. Clear, so inch over walkway ready to turn left and then bang. Teenager bike rider flying into my bonnet on the left side. Bike lanes on both sides of street but he is riding on the footpath.

Clearly your bike rider, his fault riding on he wrong side.

I can't remember the rules in Australia, but in the UK it's illegal to ride on the footpath, unless it's a designated cycle path (and will have said markings on it).

Illegal here in Victoria as well unless a shared path. Could vary by state.
