This list is a bit out-of date. (Don't mention the Statins...)

Dont forget Bex - Mummys little helpers - a cup of tea, a bex and a good lie down" AKA Phenacetin

Banned in 1977 after large numbers of women contracted renal failure and had to go on dialysis. Some had kidney cancer.

What about the statins...

The iPhone seems to have a recovery mode now for when this happens. Didn't use to and I once lost everything when it bricked during an update.

How the hell do iPhones fail halfway during an update? Unless one was stupid and ran out of battery power.

Bought a 13 inch Macbookpro with base level 128GB solid state hard drive. Did not want to pay Apple prices for the 1Tb version which was about $1.5k more.

Sourced a Mac compatible 1TB SSD and installed it and migrated the files over. Very please with self. Saved $600 but took me about 5 hours. 15 minutes to install new SSD but the rest was to download the 6GB operating system install file from Apple (using my slow ADSL) and to migrate existing files to new Mac.

Did you chuck it in the bin and buy a new one?
Not quite. But I was starting to think about how I would fit a trip to an Apple store into my day tomorrow!

Various messages, such as 'Failed to connect', 'Failed to update' and such like. I did a hard restart (pwr+home) and after a few more error messages it started the update again and worked fine.

And weird things continue to happen - either off to Nephrologist or Urologist shortly but that will be after the rheumatologist in a couple of weeks. Lucky I was healthy a few months ago.

Good luck with those Pushka. Health issues seem to take a lot of one's time as one becomes older - and its very annoying.

Went out with Dylan tonight. Had some naughty drinks. Placed a 1 ton stake on a game of football. Won.

Night now profitable. Hangover expected later.

Ahh, the silly things we do...

I assume you're still drinking so the hangover has a few hours to get started. :p

Will you fly anywhere today? Or haven't you planned the rest of the day yet?

Regardless of whether you feel that the use of stem cell technology is safe to use, others have the right to choose a different path and IMO it's nothing to do with "science black magic' which i think is a bit disingenuous. If I was offered part in a trial for a serious disease (which thankfully I don't have) I would think long and hard and read up as much as I could before deciding. If I had tried most other things I probably would elect to go the stem cell way but others have the right to pass on this option and it's none of my business - they have that right as John K does. He is not convinced that the technology is safe yet. Likewise I can accept your view on the technology that for you there is no issue.
Some have all the answers while others go about life blindly.

Quite easily and it has nothing to do with power. Like any install, sometimes theres a glitch and they get stuck. Unfortunately that can mean having to plug into iTunes where it does a restore in order to continue. However, I noticed with my most recent update that there seems to be a built-in recovery that takes place. It keeps all your data but seems to reinstall the lot.

I currently have bone on bone in my big toe for severe osteo - needs surgery for that but am putting it off for as long as I can walk in flat shoes. Podiatrist wont even look at helping unless I get the surgery. Currently high heels are out. The thought of weeks in a moon boot with unknown outcome isn't spurring me on for surgery. Dont think stem cell surgery works there. This was discovered last year after having to take off my shoes to walk to an event in Sydney, due to extreme pain. The events of February put any thoughts of surgery away for a while, just working through the health priorities right now. And weird things continue to happen - either off to Nephrologist or Urologist shortly but that will be after the rheumatologist in a couple of weeks. Lucky I was healthy a few months ago.
Good luck with the next round of medical appointments. I don't know why but when one thing goes wrong, it always seems to open a Pandora's box of further problems. Just not playing fair!

I think also that treatment for one thing can create, or exacerbate, or possibly, show up, other issues. Butterfly effect and all that. On the other hand, it is very likely that all the issues are related to one cause - but the variety of symptoms is staggering. Which is the nature of this beast. Way beyond the expertise of the GP's which is why they are happy to hive off to specialists. One of my GP's is like a deer in spotlight. He says I make his days interesting. Hmmm.

Flying to Melbourne in 5 hrs :)

No hangover - finished up at a sensible time, and still have money in the kitty for next time.
