My thoughts are with you.

My move came listening to a song driving to work.it became the basis for his eulogy-

The words just made so much sense.I know you must feel just like the singer but as I said I am sure your father knew so make sure you don't suffer.
In the time we had left together I got to at last know my father and why he acted the way he did-I just wish he had told me earlier.
I still tear up just writing this but more tears of gratefulness.
I love that song drron. It says so much to me.

My 69yo dad died this morning after a massive heart attack. I didn't get a chance to tell him I loved him, despite trying to find the right time for ages. Please don't make that mistake.

So sorry - can completely understand the timing thing.

Reminds me to pay more attention to my father... it's a hands off relationship! He's a hot head Scot with 4 sons... tough bugger.

That's so sad GarrettM. Condolences to you and your family.

GarrettM as time passes you will have wonderful thoughts of your dad. I lost my father 43 years ago and his sayings and spirit are with me despite so many years having gone by. Memories are precious.

An interesting day today. Went back out to the ESSO heliport where I worked (flew) for 27 years and had a look at the first of their new helicopters. VH-EXA an AW-139.

A big step forward in replacing the S76C aircraft that have been operating for around 20 years. The oldest of the S76Cs has around 18,000 hrs and 95,000 landing which is monumental for a helicopter.

These days I have enough problems operating our new 'smart' TV and new car let alone on of these helos.

The group of oldies in the photo has well over 200,000 flying hours between them. (Military and civilian)

Great photos Straitman. My brother was on Glomar 3 when it was here in the 60s. That was a hairy life and in the end his nerves were shot after several near misses.

Time for a bit of comic relief.
This is what it really was like to be young in 1975.With apologies to Novocastrians-
