I'm with Bill on this one.

Legality aside, if you got them to waive the fee, that's good for you.

Sadly the world wide infestation of Pokemon has reached Bangkok. In a very crowded city lots of people walking about with their heads down looking at their phone screen.

Really stuffs up the walking about.
They were already using Line and sms and whatsapp and facebook and twitter and Thai love links and whatever else they can do on the phone. What's one more application in the grand scheme of things?

Went to local post office late today and while collecting mail from my PO Box, this 30ish yo hooned in in his car straight into the disabled spot in the car park. The he bounded out of the car towards to shops. I said to him "are you disabled, in not then why are you parking in the disabled spot?" He took this as a mortal offence, started the yelling four letter words ( in the progressive tense) and rushed towards me threatening to punch me out.

Must have been something in the water in Brisbane today. So, in fact, he was disabled if only in restricted brain chemistry.

Of course he is disabled...a hot head with a short fuse

FWIW - the much bigger rip-off is state stamp duties. They are pure tax, and provide very little value at all, apart from lining the state's pockets. They reduce liquidity in the market, and are generally useless.

yeah, but as a state resident I don't mind the income!

After a lovely drive to the far reaches of the state and back (well almost) I am now waiting for a phone call to tell me the outcome.

Did I ever mention how much I don't like interviews?

*sigh*

With the Victorian apartment sales failing to settle there may be smaller stamp duty receipts about to get noticed by State Treasury.
Real estate is viewed as a golden goose by all State Governments and they do not recognize the pain where a borrower has to include the stamp duty in the amount being borrowed.

I have just bought Cory Taylor's book "Dying: A Memoir" A very sobering read so far.

She did go as far as buying a drug online that would do the job, but decided against suicide in the end, in part due to the stigma of being recorded as death by suicide and as it is illegal and subject to a hefty prison term for anyone to help, she wanted to avoid implicating anyone. Also the "emotional repercussions for others" played a factor in her deciding not to.

However in my opinion, being adults, we should have the ability to choose, hopefully when my time comes, there will that option, if required. If appropriate I'll also get a tattoo saying "DNR" on my chest.

Cory Taylor, author of Dying: A Memoir, has died

One day we will grow up and release those of us who choose to, from the shackles of religion that distort one's perception of humane treatment of the dying. Having been through an awful period of 12 days where I was the one to invoke Mum's wishes of DNR, then watch as we starved her of food and water, then the so-called palliative care she received was inhumane. My thoughts when I dwell on such things, and I try not to but this has raised it again, are that I tortured her to death.

Absolutely agree that this should not happen.I believe that everyone should be able to die peacefully if that is their wish.

They are not a bundle of laughs on either side of the table. As the interviewee you need to get into the interviewers head which is where many fall down.
As the interviewer you need to get into the interviewee's head which is where many fall down as sometimes there's nothing there!
I'm fortunate to not have had to do many interviews (as an interviewer {I must be a soft boss, no-one ever quits until they start procreating}) in my career, but sometimes a person walks in and before they say ANYTHING AT ALL, I feel like saying "Thanks for coming in, we'll let you know (NOT)".
