I dont visit my parents ash site. I think the ceremony is very important for closure but as to remains, well, they aren't how I choose to remember people. So for myself I dont really care.

UNDERTAKER: (Graham Chapman) Morning!
MAN: (John Cleese) Ah, good morning.
UNDERTAKER: What can I do for you, squire?
M: Um, well, I wonder if you can help me. Um, you see, my mother has just died.
U: Ah, well, we can 'elp you. We deal with stiffs.
M: (aghast) What?
U: Well there are three things we can do with your mother. We can burn her, bury her, or dump her.
M: Dump her?
U: Dump her in the Thames.
M: (still aghast) What?
U: Oh, did you like her?
M: Yes!
U: Oh well, we won't dump her, then. Well, what do you think: We can bury her or burn her?

We visit our granddaughter's ash site from time to time as an act of remembrance of a life never lived.

My parents & brother's ashes are buried on the hill up behind the house. I don't visit often, but nice to know they are close by.
Mum loved her garden swing chair, so I put it up there next to her grave. I usually go up after storms to make sure it is still upright.
Funny how the silly little things make you remember them.

I have my dog's ashes sitting on my desk....

My dad's are sitting in the supplied container in the corner of our spare room. I haven't been able to bring myself to think about what we'll do with them.

Got to focus on the living for now. For his part... there's no rush.

One of the world's great urban myths - though I understand could be partly true. The story that he told is that he buried his father's ashes but there was a little bit left in the container so he mixed that with coke.

My father wanted to be in the Ex Services Wall at Norwood Park in Canberra, thing they didn't tell us is that not all of his ashes would fit in the bessa block wall. So some are there and some are in the room I'm in now, sort of office.

My Mother and Aunty were both born in Broome and I had talked with them about taking their ashes back there and scattering them over the family graves. Neither was keen on that, so they are, like part of my Father, in this room.

We got our little girl's (cat) ashes home last night, so they have been added to the urns in our bookcase..

Speaking of which, has anyone ever had a false positive lab test?

I recently had one which was a bit of a scare. The doctor called me and asked me to immediately re-take the same test, and it was all good. Apparently a number of patients showed the same abnormality from this lab, so it was clearly some form of lab error (or perhaps collection or transport issue).

Sounds like their LIMS needed some calibration, and some blanks thrown in there as well.
