To everyone who has wished us well. Thank you very much from the bottom of our heart.

My wife is much better. Our daughter is beautiful. She is 2.49kg. Can't wait to see her tomorrow morning. Unfortunately we cannot have another child. Sad but not the end of the world.

P.S. If anyone was ever going to tame me it could be my daughter but I won't give up trying. ;)

Ill be honest, I dont get this whole NBN thing.

My mum is in her 80s and was basically forced to have it installed into her house, her electricity bill went up because of it and she doesnt have internet, email, wifi or foxtel.

Oh and the kicker. When he installed the box, he didnt install it near a power point so she had this power cord running through the room and then paid for an electrician to come back and install a closer power point.

I am guessing she got copper to the home. People warned the member for Wentworth against that FTTN would mean extra electricity costs for NBN CO and the customer. FTTN costs about $1600, whereas fibre to the driveway $2000 and no electricity costs (IIRC).

Was meant to get FTTP last year and at the last moment that was pulled. NBN buys the Optus/Telstra cable probably sight unseen which might be now useless. So now I face the real probability of going from FTTP to HFC to FTTN.

If I do get FTTN in my area, I will delay it to the last day and possibly disconnect the home phone and teach the parents to use mobile phones.

I have found the relationship between Father and Daughter can be very special (twice). So congratulations JohnK and make the most of it.

Congrats JohnK. I'm sorry your wife won't be able to have any more kids, but you can cherish your new little girl even more if she has no competition. :D

It is grim.
My accountant said the imputation credit would be beneficial for a super fund.
yes it is and I have done a few on that basis. However they are all doing these huge discounts to the market price. Who knows what the market price will be for the discount - the market is so volatile, it could be really low or high! The couple I have done if you tendered anything other than the maximum discount you didn't get a look in. This one might be Ok - I haven't done the sums, but the Telstra one in 2014 I did take part and I would have been better off selling on market a few weeks prior to the buyback, rather than selling at a discount and getting the franking credit. You also have to wait until the following year to get the franking credits. I use an online broker, so my brokerage costs are minimal. We are also in pension mode, so no tax payable.

I think you need to sit down and do the calcs yourself to see whether it is going to work for you.

Does anyone know what day it is today? I've lost track of time.

Today is Tuesday, part of the Americas are on Monday, 13 September 2016,

Tuesday the 2nd day of the working week for most countries and the 257th of the year as its a leap year.

I better also wish you congratulations, I almost don't believe it, married and a dad, thought it would never happen, wow.
