Someone at work is an idiot. You and your wife are your baby's safe place and bring her comfort. She knows your voice and knows your smells and she will respond to that.

I hope all of you are getting rest and your wife is feeling better.
Wife is feeling better but still in pain. Baby only woke up 3 times last night which is better than night before. Baby is an interesting character. She is strong and stubborn already.

It is all worth it....

Last line says it all.

I have been off sick this week... I am yet to meet anyone who enjoys being sick, but I really really really hate it.

Being sick is THE WORST.

I believe a Congratulations wish to JohnK and family are due.

Did I miss anything else on AFF?

My husband is upset with me as I wont send him to Bluesfest in April, we come home from 3.5 weeks of South & North America in March.

I told him Im happy for him to go but its $550 for the ticket, $270 VIP area, $2+K for accommodation and food and $500 for airfare plus transfers (and its Y only)

And all this time he thought the "travel fairies" made it happen.

Now we all know there are two ways to say "tomato".

There are also two ways to say "memo", i.e. the short form of the word "memorandum". Which do you prefer - MEE-moh, or MEH-moh?

Trying to settle an argument here...

I'd say it like the Romans would (MEH-mo) but that does fall apart with words with V in them. Also the Disney clownfish would be NEH-mo

I consider "names" as a totally separate category. If the fish calls itself "Neemo", you go with it. Otherwise how could Cholmondley be pronounced "Chumley".

But "Mee-mo" is pure US determination to be different, and Mem-o it is for our household, office and anywhere else I have influence. :D

After investigating my mother's Telstra home phone bill, despite her pension card being registered years ago she wasn't receiving any pension discounts...

The outsourced Telstra rep was apologetic and gave my mother a whopping $10 credit.

I also changed her plan to a slightly more expensive plan, but which also includes free local calls. So hopefully the quarterly bill goes from $150-$200 to about $120.

DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THAT - THAT IS ILLEGAL.

The same thing happened with my mother who once she noticed it kept a log of the calls to Telstra, dates, names, what they said etc. Finally said she was going to the Telco Ombudsman with her log of calls/dates/names. Then Telstra gave her a $2,500 credit.

Stand your ground (perhaps follow-up on your mother's behalf AFTER you get her to tell Telstra you are appointed as her rep.

I am already her rep. Problem is they keep changing their plans and what is offered now, wasn't offered prior.

Hopefully her old bills I saved will reveal how much compo I can get for her after I contact the TIO.

I suspect Telstra has processes in plan to fob off customers and bet on a % of customers not realising they're getting ripped off.

Another round of heavy rain Saturday and worse Tuesday. Dams are overflowing. So much damage all over the city. Hope our Waterfall Gully residents are ok.
