Always mix your drinks; alcohol; non alcoholic; alcohol; non alcohol, everyone gets the picture.

No; no not that mix. :p

alcohol; water; alcohol; water; I was going to say juice instead of water then I would be back to the previous problem. :-|

I found the HIX Edinburgh to be v. good value; managed to get a room (that would take 4 if wanted) for 2 people for 39 GBP per night. Had a v. nice buffet breakfast (for Europe, anyway) too!

And to be more off-topic for this forum, I did enjoy the catering on my ~90 min TK flight IST-ATH.

Much better than BA - for comparable length flights.

From memory:
- Ham and salad, including a wedge of feta and a wedge of a cheddar, 4 olives etc.
- Fruit pieces.
- Yoghurt.
- Dessert.
- cuplet of water.
- cuplet of juice.

This was fairly early morning, so probably the equivalent of breakfast.

BA's effort LHR-IST and ATH-LHR (some of the few decently catered flights left) were pretty poor. Lamb chop type thing (for breakfast?) with other very scary heated items? Manky tomato pieces with some green goo on them, and some beef that had seen better days for dinner? Even the dessert looked scary.

Makes you think that if it weren't for the fact that AN had kicked the bucket and/or there was a carrier on AU domestic that was in *A, we should jump ship off oneworld?

Everything is going south. AA - 'nuff said. BA are in a whole lot of trouble and then they take over IB. JL is either going to kick the bucket or likely to leave oneworld. AY and MA don't really count.

The only real thing of course is that QF is still a decent airline (despite the repeated claims from my friends that the FAs are some of the rudest in the sky) with a decent FFP, and xONExs are amongst the best RTW options (price-wise anyway) out there.

Yes, I do like a few drops of spring water in my scotch. It helps to break the surface tension and release the full aromas to complete the consumption enjoyment process ;)

YQY,

Probably the most important questions are is SWMBO going to the F lounge with you and/or are their any possible exceptions to the alcohol free diet :?:

She doesn't have to know what you're doing during her spa appointment.

Thinking positive does not make the negative go away. For some the negatives always outweigh the positives and if you think too positively then the greater the disappointment most of the time.
