Nope ;) And still haven't located a trench coat that I like either.

It's often wrong to quote yourself, but I will make (yet another) exception:

I did find a trench coat I liked in Turkey. Same style and fabric as most of the ones I'd seen in London, but at less than 30 pounds (vs 100 + in London), there was very little decision making needed ...

Pic? :D

I too bought myself a nice trench coat the other day. I've been drooling over it for a couple of months, but decided to take a gamble and waited till sale season, as I couldn't justify the full price they were charging which was a little excessive for what that brand is. Sure enough, went back on the 27th of Dec and it was available for half price - and in my size! :D

Now I need matching boots...

I am looking for a new Sony Vaio Laptop; my current one is 5 years old and its starting to slow down.

I am also considering buying one of those cheap 10" laptops for when I go traveling.

Decisions; decisions.

The only reason to buy a Vaio is for style. Sure, there aren't many other contenders for most stylish laptop out there (with possible exceptions of a couple of Dell models, about one HP model, one Toshiba and perhaps Apple Macbook).

Apart from that, Sony laptops are quite high priced for the spec they offer.

Depending on your needs, you might be able to acquire a new laptop that can be good enough for all tasks. Of course, for travelling, you'd probably want the smallest screen you can tolerate. I wouldn't go larger than a 13.3", although keep in mind that there can be a difference in tolerance for laptop sizes when travelling for work or for leisure.

Please note the Sony Vaio has lasted 5 years so not too bad; I also use a Sony digital camera so it makes uploading pictures very easy.

Sony has some of the new 16.4" wide screen which is nice; which has a nice bigger screen so bigger to carry around; weight will be the same which is nice so just deciding what to do. I could always just put up with my current laptop which saves money, which I could then put into flying; like F lounge runs and the like. ;)

Didnt want to start a whole thread so thought off topic was the way to go

Re: JAL - is the J seat iequivalent to QF Dreamtime on BNE-Narita but more like the 172degree angled "flat" SYD-Narita?

Routes to LHR and CDG will be the angled lie flat??

Isthis correct?

Unlike Flashware I am in the same position as you though my old one is only 4 years old.Must be a QLD thing.
Though I will probably get mine in LOTFAP at about half the Aussie price.

Waiting 4-5 years for a new laptop, wow you're more resilient than me. I want to jump ship now, but will probably give it another year before I have to upgrade.

Agree with anat0l though, 13.3" is big enough, will just buy an external screen for use when at my desk. 24" should be enough.

I felt the same way about my Abacus at school.

My current main laptop - a 15" widescreen Asus - is getting up to 3 years old now. Our nominal replacement time for laptops is 3 - 4 years; we try and coincide it with something tax related (e.g. business purchase, salary packaging for Mum or Dad, etc.), although this is getting harder.

My eeePC was one of the first in Australia and thus in Brisbane; just ticked over 2 years of age now. Handy little device, although the underclocked Celeron processor doesn't quite match with my furious Firefox browsing style, plus the screen is only good enough for 800x480 resolution, which does become limiting when trying to view certain webpages.

The main thing for me is resolution. My next netbook I would like to achieve a minimum of 1024x768, since most webpages are very displayable in that resolution. There exists laptops as small as 10" or less that are capable of displaying that (WXGA and better); haven't checked out prices though.

24" is just insane :o But that's probably because I'm very used to my laptop screen of 15" widescreen. The only thing I like more about a bigger screen is that I can see a lot more on a web page at once :)

Abacus?! Surely you're not that old, doc. What happened to your slide rule and log tables?

A 24" slide rule would be insane, though. :p

Looking at cricket.com.au and the live scores for the test match between AU and Pakistan, using the "Match Outlook" feature (also known as "The Looking Glass"), it predicts that Pakistan currently has a > 90% chance of winning this test.

I know "anything can happen" and this is by no means the crystal ball, but the methodology of the calculations are sound enough; gotta feel sorry for anyone who put their money on AU for this test.
