Does the A380 have a nose-cam too, or just tail? Would be quite cool if you could get a video made after the flight from either camera, but I recall seeing the prices. Seems like it’d be more fun to take a trip that takes you onto the land.

Guess what?

I was just outside and heard an unusual* jet aircraft noise and looked up - that very 388 bound for the southern nether regions - if flew right over Patto probably around a third of its way into it's climb (the 737's are normally much higher by the time the get here).

I looked at my watch and it was 6:54pm.

* Don't get very many 4 engines jets over here since the demise of the 146's.

Yes, I've long wanted to do one of those cruise type things down there...

Hope it didn's startle the locals too much...

Well 2010 is the year of the polar regions-August we are cruising the Arctic, december the Antarctic.Looking forward to it.

Most wouldn't even look up.

It was rather quiet, more of a low whoosh ...

I'm guessing it took off on 34 into the wind, long banking right and headed almost due south from there.

Would have been great views of the CBD from the Starboard windows.

Big storm has just passed over Geelong, was starting to look like a tornado was forming out there...

64 km Melbourne Radar Loop

We just all moved inside on the strength of this (we near “Carrum”)

Holy Sh¡t! Then again, it looks to be clearing now. Been light to heavy rain here all afternoon/evening. Better than scorching heat I reckon.

My mum is now picking up my sister from the venue we dropped her and transporting her to another. I’ve told my mum to tell her she’s used her free ride of the night!

Rule of NYE, you get dropped at one place and stay there, that’s it!

Yes, like stay at home where you can have a quiet drink....but I can't have too uch, never know if and when I may be called upon to be the taxi driver to ferry sick children to hospital.

Happy New Year all! Straight into the office for me today as we're relocating.. such fun

Managed to somehow catch the Y2-10k bug with my HDD crashing shortly after midnight. It's unbootable and isn't recognised by the system now, plus making a clicking noise, so it's clearly dead.

I'm just glad I have a fairly recent backup to restore from when I buy a new disk on Monday!

Using my spare computer hooked up to the HDTV currently, but it's hard to read the forums sat all the way back on the couch ;)

Sounds like your house is nearly as bad as ours - we've got 4 live PCs, 2 others semi-live, 2 laptops and 2 netbooks. All of which back up periodically to one drive on one machine which is then backed up itself to an external drive.
After a lethal virus infection a few months ago, I might have gone a little OTT with the security

I'd say it's more so the clicking noise that's the reason it's not working and just a co-incidence as to when it happened.

Fear not, that's how I was AFF'ing after my laptop was stolen, I used the media PC.

Not really OTT... all my PC's / Servers run an off-site backup to a DR facility in Perth (which itself also has data redundancy).

And you thought I was serious about a Y2-10k bug? It's just extremely bad luck, somehow. Lately I've had a few memory leaks though with extreme caching on the disk, so I thought this could be coming... I've got to the stage where 3GB RAM isn't enough :(
