The totally off-topic thread

There were the posts about space travel and the speed of light ect that was interesting

What I walked away from that is knowing that 10yrs of watching Stargate didn’t really teach me much.

Moral: Space-time-continuum is more of an acquired taste than a lobster tale.

Touche, and good pickup Denali...

I just ordered our Melbourne Cup platters ect for delivery via Coles - going to get some Velocity points and SCs out of it as well :)

I gather my invite is in the post? Lounge suit or neat casual?

I am actually attending this year.

Blue lounge suit, matching yellow tie and pocket square. I was going to wear a yellow rose, but realised I actually don't like flowers, and have enough trouble with hay fever without wearing a giant pollen emitter on my lapel.

Something funny in the water at the ABC-

I hear you JK,

Did you by any chance tread on an ant in a previous life?. Hopefully good karma comes your way soon.:)
I must have done something bad to warrant this much attention.

Flight the other day landed 12 minutes early and I thought wow the string of 7 delayed flights had been broken. But then all came rushing back. Stop, start, stop, start and we taxied to furthest part of BKK airport and stopped. Then on bus and did 2 laps of BKK airport before driver found the right concourse to park. And then another 20-25 minutes before luggage came out.

So that's 8 flights in a row. Chance to make it 9 flights tomorrow.

If you are implying I have to choose between the two invitations ( thank you :) both), I can assure you I am happy to accept both and tent-hop ( I mean Pavillion hop, of course) during the day. And no, I have no shame.

If if you are going as the Swedish flag, maybe I can go Dutch? ;)

It's something different... (and has a picture)

My most intellectual posts normally don't attract many likes, but when I post something funny or amusing I get 20+ likes... Go figure.

There you go.I have liked that you're trying to be intellectual.;):p

Why is it that now I can't wear really high heels then I spend a lot of time window shopping for them?

JohnK, I think you would be better if you just stopped counting?

Me too ! Since I broke my ankle/legs two years ago I cant wear high heels any more, only low wedges. But I still look at my Jimmy Choos hoping that I will be able to wear them again SOME day. :(

The Yellow Rose is the official flower for the Melbourne Cup, at least I think / hope it is.

I have sadly had to accept that high heels and I are no longer suited :(. I like looking at high heels but know it is not to be. I can do a small 1 inch heel but that's just about it.

I practically live in high heels when I'm not at work !!
Could not do without them :)

Weep.

I was fine until arthritis in big toe about 12 months ago. Kicked in at son's 30th birthday and ended up walking to Sydney Aquarium in stocking feet. Thought it was a once off but X-rays showed different.

If you can't walk believe me you will be able to do without them.

Man Flu update.

Hubby phoned to tell me hes going home to sleep and can I please bring him home some juice and can I make him for dinner "that soup broth thing with the prawn dumplings that you know I like"

Heard that one of the jurors in the Qld murder trial, whilst considering the verdict has instagramned their coffee and #(name of accused). Could result in a mistrial. Stupid stupid person.

I was just reading that the verdict has come in as not guilty.

Hopefully the coffee shot was after he was dismissed from jury duty

VERDICT: NOT GUILTY on both counts ! so not guilty of murder and not guilty of manslaughter.

Its an interesting verdict. Never thought the murder charge would stick but possibly manslaughter. Oh well, that's the end of it I guess.
