Yep there was and all things considered a decent result - Australian trainer / Australian jockey / Australian owners - almost an all Australian result.

The biggest, most powerful, wealthiest horse racing conglomerate in the world in Godolphin Racing owned by the Maktoum family with almost a bottomless pit of funds and vast sponsorship by Emirates amongst others have been trying to win it for 20years but still cannot get over the line with Hartnell finishing 3rd for them today.

1536454[/URL]]We survived Halloween. Started off slow but then the hoards came about 6.30 to 8.30... just about the same time that the baby/teenage magpies in our tree decided to learn to hunt and was eating a dead bird on our lawn... nice.

We had a bit of a panic, as we only got back from Singapore at lunchtime yesterday and totally forgot it was Halloween . The first lot who turned up seemed quite happy with some chocolate covered cherries. Then a big group arrived and I remembered we had a 300g slab of Aldi's chocolate left over from Miss FM's engagement party (chocolate fountain), so they were given that and told to split it. We were then scraping the barrel and the final groups ended up with with chocolate biscuits that the mother of one of Mr FM's models had given him! I have put it in my electronic calendar for next year, but I am usually well prepared!

I paid a premium of $20 in silver coins for reason below and I got 5x$20 notes in return.

As we are semi-rural we do not get many coming around because each property is 5 acres and driveways tend to be long so the Hit rate vs work rate is very low.. Yeserday we did not get any visitors. Even Dominos and pizza hut wont deliver as we are 200m beyond their delivery boundary. They also wont deliver to someone waiting at the boundary.

I have been known to give a gold coin instead of lollies due to my recalcitrance about Halloween.

Was warmish yesterday in London but bad from a flying perspective. Friends from Ireland coming over were on a 7.40am departure but didn't end up departing till 11am due to fog around LHR. Not that I'd know if it was warm though having got into the office at 8 and leaving at 8.... Tough new job, but they're at least stumping up for the time spent over and above a professional day which is very kind of them.

And yes, I was in trouble when I got home given we had guests over for a Halloween party and I arrived not long before most were about to go home. Sorted that by playing my usual role of fireworks master!
