The totally off-topic thread

Currently watching Flightplan on 7 at the moment, and the configuration of the fake plan in this movie, particularly in Y scares the heck out of me.

Y configuration is 3-5-3, and business is 2-4-2.

Bags not flying in Y on this fake plane, but would love Julia Styles as my FA.

I'd hope for a really fat plane until 3-5-3 in Y becomes practical. Of course, fat planes might not take off (many puns in that statement :)).

I didn't watch the movie, but I cheated and read the Wikipedia article and reviewed IMDB. Seems like quite a thriller. But most interesting is this bit of trivia shown in both the Wikipedia and IMDB Trivia sections:
The Association of Professional Flight Attendants, called for an official boycott of the film, which they say depicts flight attendants as rude, uncaring, indifferent, and even one as a "terrorist."

Hopefully people are smart enough to make their own judgement. Mind you, in some situations, that statement isn't entirely false. (Well, OK, maybe not the "terrorist" part.)

Better than Pepsi Minimum, I mean ... Max (referring to another thread :P)

I really don't drink very much pepsi at all. It's mainly when it's forced on me by a bar that only has pepsi post-mix, "dining" at KFC/Pizza Hut/some takeaway chicken places over here and other illustrious Pepsi food chains.

Coke definitely has the better taste.

Now I'd love to try out one of these machines:
http://www.sdnn.com/sandiego/2009-0...eils-the-soda-fountain-of-the-future?pid=1374

Saw some media on it recently as part of a Coke history show, and it uses "inkjet" type cartridges to add the flavourings.

Perhaps I need to visit the Coke tour at Atlanta (I think they have one), or one of the restaurants that is trialling it.

Now that I'd like to see!

This thread is drifting dangerously on topic, with talks of cupcakes and pepsi.

QF 108 was on time today!

Was watching Sky News (UK) earlier, without sound, and reading the closed captions (was in a pub wasting time while waiting for some Indian).

The Closed Captions were the worst captioning I've ever seen. Yeouch. I'm surprised I actually understood anything that the news was talking about with the shocking attempt at captioning.

Often the live captioning for the local news here goes terribly wrong. Likewise on ACA. I guess it just depends on the accent, strange though given they’re reading off a teleprompter most of the time.

I see that Mal has decided to change his avatar from old hat to old school. :)

Nope, probably more related to the higher average disposable income due to mining.

I'd be interested in how much beer costs in Mackay, Mt Isa, Emerald and other mining base towns.

In my mining town, beer is not too bad at about $5ish. But for a student its not that great :(
