I see that Mal has decided to change his avatar from old hat to old school. :)

After looking for an ASCII art representation of a plane that would look good in an Avatar space, I gave up and just decided on C:\

A change of Avatar is required once in a while...

In my mining town, beer is not too bad at about $5ish. But for a student its not that great :(

Did someone else mention alcohol.

From the Brisbane Courier Mail. Queensland&squo;s $2.35 billion a year booze bill | The Courier-Mail

QUEENSLANDERS now spend more on booze than ever - more than $2 billion yearly - despite rising living costs and the nation's worst unemployment rate.

Never. :o

How much does a beer at the QP cost I wonder.... ?

Cost of beer in QP = Cost required for you to get access to QP (e.g. buy QP membership, get SG) / Number of beers drunk in the QP

Needless to say, for some people, that figure could be quite low :)

And let's not forget other lounges, stuff you drink other than beer, food, etc. etc.

Well for me $3,800 since 2003 so 7 years and say 10 lounge visits a year. so 70 visits all up = 3,800/70 = $54.00 a visit; and decreasing.

I just threw up all over myself. Woo f'n hoo.

Drinking too much is never good for you, I hope you recover quickly.

I'm not sure if I want to work out that figure. Especially if you drink *proper* champers at a Lounge.

Are negatives allowed?

Is this thread about to hit critical mass?

And I see no difference at all between a free alcohol diet and an alcohol free diet.:p
Now that is not very good advice from a physician.

Trying to understand why our Southern neighbours like to resettle in our state is another befuddlement.

And don't say the weather is better up here....
I certainly cannot understand it. SE Queensland is a total disorganised dump. Most people do it because of necessity and would not hesitate for a second to return back home if there was jobs available there.

Only 171 days to go until the end of June and then re-assess whether I want to torture myself for another 6 months. :(

At 7/256 or 7/50, Australia really isn't in a good position!

Rain has so far managed to stay away, but for how much longer?
How much more luck does this useless Australian cricket team need.

I am glad Hughes got a chance to prove once again that he is the opener Australia needs for the next 10+ years. Number 4 rated cricketing nation in the world is quite generous for the current Australian team....

But if you go, there’ll be even less for drinks on Wednesday nights :p

I saw England fight South Africa to the very last ball the other night, was absolutely thrilling, and it was all for a draw, with 9 wickets down!!

Am pondering what to do. My hand is split in half and bleeding a lot, should I go get it fixed up?

You're a walking disaster flashware

In other news, I just can't get to sleep tonight. Spent 2hrs giving my weak cough Nokia N97 handset a mighty kicking. Uninstalling (again) all those apps on main memory, de-crufting the download and cache directories, and finding a whole new stack of tricks to get it running half decently again.

After 12+ years of Nokia handsets, this is the last one of them I will ever buy. Roll on Android.

Yeah I suggest you get it fixed.
Don't rely on Emergency wards though - they may make you wait for several hours as you'll be a low priority case. Find a 24 hour surgery or similar who can sort it out.

Agreed. What on earth are you doing at your computer with an injury like that??

I don't know I'd go that far .. QLD has obscene summers (big reason I left) and the gov't is a bit of a disaster (though arguably not quite as bad as NSW), but it's not completely disorganised. Still, give the job market a few months to pick back up again, I reckon you'd be able to find something in NSW/VIC without too much hassle. God knows I've had better luck getting work down south -- and I don't have qualifications to make my life easier!

Srsly, get an iPhone. Decent Android handsets are at least another year off I reckon (though the Motorola Droid looks pretty cool).

Wandering dangerously close to topic for a moment -- what's a good J seat on CX's A330 (flight is listed as 33B)? Seatguru/Seatexpert aren't being as helpful as I'd like, and FT doesn't appear to have many recommendations either.

I've selected 21K for the moment (I figure being close to the galley for champagne topups isn't such a bad idea), but v open to suggestions. :D
