You're correct samh004...having lunch and catching up on my required reading (of updated threads). Was away/offline for 10 days - took the family down to Lennox Head for a holiday on the beach.

Did you have a good time?

I think I saw you lurking last night too, or at some point yesterday/very early this morning :p

I should really go get brunch.

Now you are on AFF way to much; and you start remembering who is online. :p:shock:

If there was an award for fastest moving newcomer, I think samh004 would be a serious contender.

samh004's posting average is (as at this post) 5.95 posts/day. Definitely blows me out of the water; my average is only 1.85 posts/day. For some other board stalwarts (mods, feel free to edit this list):
  • serfty - 6.64 posts/day - the most posts on AFF
  • JohnK - 6.79 posts/day - non-moderator member with the most posts on AFF (a short 1,000 or so behind serfty)
  • straitman - 2.87 posts/day - but still several thousand posts on top of everyone else
  • Lindsay Wilson - 1.52 posts/day - too busy out saving the world :)
  • Dave Noble - 3.56 posts/day
Hey, you never know. We've all met our moderators (well, I've met all of them except for one) - perhaps in time they're going to need to find new blood.

This past week I’ve been very bored and spent a lot of time online, so I reckon I’ll probably hit 6 posts a day soon, but it’ll decrease in the coming months I’m sure, and then pickup again… always fluctuating. At current rate though it’ll be 2000 posts in a year.

I notice in the past few days you’ve made over 50 posts. Probably about 15 a day or more.

I think I’ve met 2 mods. If I met the third I was in an alcohol-induced haze and don’t recall. And of course, met 1 admin :p

I'd start a London drinks night (and the beer is cheaper over here! ;) ), but somehow I think I would be the only regular attendee - and most times it would be just me!
You have done quite well in the last 6 months. There was my father and I at one in August and then you had Anat0l, Flashware and I think QF009 a few months ago. Schedule the London drinks nights for when someone from Australia will be there. Always someone passing through.

May not be as successful as the BNE drinks nights but will certainly be a lot better than the SYD, MEL, ADL, PER drinks nights. ;)

and there was another AFFer as well, 2 in fact, but I am not saying who the last one was. :p

Indeed, although why people would willingly be in the UK at the moment is another question. How poorly the UK reacts to snow is amazing... ;) Or as the common joke goes : "It's because it's the wrong type of snow". The wrong type of snow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And yes, there were a couple of names missing from that list, but think it's correct now.

Yes, it was very relaxing and recharged me for a very busy 2010 - on a number of fronts.

Correct, I was online 2 nights ago, after my return from hols and after doing the post holiday list - unpacking, washing, playing with children, garden maintenance etc.

anat0l, you have way too much time on your hands at the moment

Interesting stats - but you missed NM :oops:

The joys of being a part owner of a small business and young kids. It's interesting to look at that list and see that only NM and I have a young family.

Very unlikely, but still possible. Let's see what happens.

Well, we either have a drink before I head to the UK, or when I get to the UK :p

The garden must be wild considering how much rain SE QLD has had.

I just checked in at Sydney and mentioned that it's my birthday. I was handed my boarding pass and printed on it above the line where it mentions QP and Silver are the words BIRTHDAY GIRL.

I feel so special :D

Perhaps, but I don't have a small business and two kids under three :D (I hope Jack's doing well)

Hmmm...I knew there were 4 mods here... big sorry to NM. But here they are:

NM sports a posting average of 6.24 posts/day and has the second highest post count of all members of AFF (including moderators); serfty is ahead only by about a few hundred posts.

Now IIRC NM has quite a few kids, but those are impressive stats!

I think it's impressive how you do it all and still with business travel to be done. Luckily you're not quite at that level where a rendition of the song Cat's in the Cradle becomes appropriate. :D
