Nice pressie from AGL, $650 credit for the qtr - loving the solar FIT!
Well done.

Mum and dad had someone come around a few weeks back. Quote was > $14,000. They wanted bank account details before we'd even decided. We don't use that much electricity and didn't fully do the sums but we're not going to invest > $14,000.

And it's white BC!

So she's a WBC then. 40C today but the heatwave sort of ends tomorrow. Going to get a tropical feel with heavy rain on Tuesday. Up to 40 ml. What the heck? Adelaide? And we are away for the storm again.

We truly are morphing into the b*stard son-in-law of the United States of America.

Nipped across to Coles this morning to grab fresh milk and extra ice cream to cover the next 48 hours with three teens hard on the fang; at 8:15am there were next to no car parking spaces, and the shop itself was wall to wall with people stocking up for the zombie apocalypse. The atmosphere was just maniacal, and about as far from celebratory and peace on earth as you can imagine - something I am more used to seeing at US sale time. It was just feral.

So as an antidote to that stress, I'll leave my fellow AFFers with a shot of the Summer Solstice sunset from a few days ago here in Perth - where the 40C heat made the sun distort and reflect as it slipped below the horizon.

Happy Christmas from Western Australia, everyone! :-)

In the land of the Trump, that photo at first glance makes one think of the 60's song taught to US school children "Duck and Cover".

Yes- I thought it looks a touch thermonuclear, too!

(another I took that day is almost square)

LOL, I had to really think about WBC!
We had a storm late yesterday afternoon after a hot day but at present it's clear and a pleasant 25C, only heading for 31 so not too bad. You need to acclimatise for your cruise Pushka but 40 is a bit much!

"Nat Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" will be our after dinner movie tonight.

... and in homage to National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, a squirrel has appeared on our Christmas tree.

We've had to re-adjust Pluto as his unfortunately placed id tag would would otherwise reveal itself as a very large tapeworm  !

EDIT: Merry Christmas all - may you have all your wishes come true.

In lounge, being bothered by a Jane.

Jane travels a lot. Jane missed her JetStar flight as she's hungover and had to buy a VA flight. Jane is boring me with telling me her life story about her dogs and 4WD, all her upgrades, all her business class flights, telling me what my flight will be like.

Please don't be like Jane.
And hope that Jane isn't an AFF regular....

All waist high Smartgate machines used prior for entering NZ have been removed.
No more of all that 2.5 times sized thumb sized small receipt.
You go straight to the camera.
Like the ones now used leaving Aust.
No more bright let lights at camera either.
