Hoping for a happy ending with your dog!

We've got a couple of Terriers, and have learnt it's better to book them into a kennel ... the buggers are just too just active for family and friends to take on the risk.

The list is long ... cane toads, digging, hitting the road on the scent - they never stop!!

Our dog Lola has gone missing and being in the States where I can't do anything is killing me.

Oh BC. Keeping everything crossed. She is chipped?

Our cat went missing for 3 days and then popped up in the garden - had been hiding in neighbours cellar!

Chipped and council tag.

Sounds like someone went up th to street letting all the dogs out. She was seen following another dog so that's good news. And daisy is safe which is a plus. Hopefully someone grabbed her and she gets taken to the rspca. It's a worry as she's quite shy.

But not a 'like' to the nasty mean person who could do this. :(

Lola has been found safe and sound. A neighbour kept her overnight then took her for a walk looking for her owner and mum spotted her. So relieved.

Good to hear. It is so stressful when your pet had gone missing. You can get back to enjoying your holiday now.

I swear, my husband and I must be the only couple I know that can argue about directions while using a GPS.

He's awesome in every way but you put us in a rental and we both turn into aholes.

Sounds like the punchline to a joke: The GPS said straight ahead, she said turn left, he said turn right.... so they argued about if for 5 mins then both turned into aholes.

In my experience (and that is a very important qualifier), it is a brave woman that corrects a man on his sense of direction. YMMV, of course.

My husband's sense of direction only works under water.

He gets lost at Westfields.

We have a long history of not communicating well when driving in different countries/states.

Get in car.

Both agree we suck at this and we will try to be supportive and clear with directions.

We're arguing before we leave the car park.

You are relieved? So the heck am I. I am so happy for you BC.

Be careful of rental car GPS. They may be set to find the shortest route without considering whether the road is "sealed". Experience? Getting back to Dunedin Airport from Queenstown...........

Happy wandering (but consider the source)

Fred

We had to buy a new GPS when we got to Perth. Our old one thought we landed and was driving in a paddock

I'm so pleased Lola has been found. Was going to hunt for the link to share as I know a lot of dog owners in Melb but thought I'd better read to the end first.

My landlord let my last dog out about 10 years ago and ran after him - so my dog ran more :( he was missing overnight, crossed some busy roads and came close to being on Parramatta Rd. Thankfully he got himself locked into some school grounds overnight and someone across the road spotted him and took him food and water and checked on him.

The useless council failed to marry my lost dog report with their found dog report. If they had, he would have been home by early evening and not 10am the next day.

I got him back as they rang their vet about 10 mins after I'd been in there with a lost dog poster. I still clearly remember getting the call from the lady saying she knew where he was.

It's ok Jessica we are going to Sydney tomorrow and not doing a long cut on the way over thru MEL.
Stay safe everyone.

The beef on VA562 was very good tonight.

Better and different from VA561, although the menu was exactly the same.

Sounds like our council was quite helpful; mum told them I was overseas so they took her number in case she was found. When I spoke to her, a neighbour said she'd seen Lola following another dog which was a good sign. I owe quite a few people a good bottle of wine for their efforts to get her home. After Millie passing away 12 months ago I was not ready to lose another dog.
