The more one picks up, the wealthier one gets....but bending from the waist at our ages is tanamount to disaster. Squatting is my preferred pick up method, with a good leg drive to get back up.

Now I did pick up a 1c coin this morning in our car parking area. Tarnished but a bit of Pepsi and it should be shinning like a newbie.

But why would anyone but the OP want to do this, JohnK? :)
I can't ignore money lying around waiting for a home. Manettas was a multi millionaire with a walking stick and still bent down to pick up 2c pieces.

Just wish I'd learnt how to hang on to $50/$100 notes for longer in my wallet instead of throwing them around. ;)

The good stuff is already in a wine fridge. But I cannot afford one that holds 300 bottles

They aren't that expensive considering the value of the wine slumbering in a cool environment. I guess its a matter of priorities. Maybe postponing a trip for a month?

All this years travel is booked and paid for, plus we dont have space for a giant wine fridge, hence the boxes living in the middle of the dining room floor. We're going to have to move in with mum for a bit, and it certainly wont fit anywhere there either. I've got my priorities right; the good stuff is in the wine fridge already, the rest is gradually being drunk.

Well, not so much living with mum but the drinking and travel bit.

I think our 31 year old son from Sydney will be expecting to live with us a bit as he transitions back to Adelaide with his partner. So we are transiting partly to Melbourne. Problem solvered. (Well that bit is a coincidence but why spoil a good story ;)).
