I am a bit surprised that the police were not able to block off the area round Flinders Street where he was doing donuts though don't know what the actual situation was like.

I suspect police actions will be heavily scrutinized with the advantage of hindsight.

Agree 20-20 vision in hindsight is a wonderful thing. Hope though that they do look at their procedure manuals and see if any possible changes may be warranted.

When you got home was the house still standing and no water damage from the storm?

Not home just yet but think home area wasn't too bad. Fingers crossed.

Very hot night in Brisbane over night very glad air conditioning were invented.

With that I have got up and going for a run as my Saturday morning exercise.

What happened in Melbourne was a bit of a shock, thanks for the interesting photos penegal.

A slight variation of the Golden Rule will be going into effect here soon-"do unto others what they did to you."
The loud music is getting ready to be cranked up.

I'm about to go to my first Indian wedding... According to invite, it's about 4hrs plus reception.

Water, check.
Hand fan, check
Sneaky snack for sugar crash, check
Head scarf, check... I look like brothel Mary with my red head scarf.

Wish me luck

Is it an arranged wedding? Many weddings seem to be set up by the parents and surprisingly many of their marriages work out.

When we stayed at the Langham in Mongkok a few years ago there was a wedding over the weekend with all the civil and religious ceremonies. The groom started off very perky and over the weekend we watched him deteriorate as all the ceremonies were at the hotel. By the last day we saw him in the lift just leaning into it and quietly moaning.

I reckon you and TomV should opt for an epic event?

My friends marriage was semi arranged and they are happy. Seems to work for some, but she had a choice.

The less epic the better in my books.

This was my bosses son's wedding, civil and religious ceremonies. He took a week off work.

My husband was just explained why he had to use his left hand on accepting the sweet to eat. He held out his right hand and the man wouldn't serve him.
