Good to hear FM. Not long now till the big day. Hope all the arrangements are going to plan with no dramas. At least the QF one turned out to be a false alarm :). Would be hoping for better weather than today's in Canberra.

So what season is it that we currently have mid-season sales? Which reminds me, first day of Autumn today. :p

In Bangkok I always try to cross with a local, my rationale being that the vehicle driver will try to miss either the Farang or the local. :p So far so good.
You really need to take chances anywhere in Thailand. They drive way too fast for the road conditions.

In saying that many Thais cross the road with me and they compliment me that I know what I am doing.

Umm, normally first day of Autumn in our great country is 1st March.........

Today is the first day of Spring in the northern hemisphere. Anyone know why the 3 week disrepancy between opposing seasons in the 2 hemispheres?

There is more water in the southern hemisphere compared to the northern hemisphere and land can take a bit longer to warm up or cool down depending on the process.

I would think parts of Brisbane were still feeling summer weather, I can't wait for autumn.

I was wondering the same thing...

Some countries go on the equinox (ie today) and some go based on the 1st of the month.

Every three months on the 1st I post on facebook "yay it's summer/spring/autumn/winter" and every time my dad comments "you know it's not until the 20th"

Stress levels just went through the roof. Just checked Master FM's bookings (he is due to fly home in less than 3 weeks from SFO for Ms FM's wedding) and there was nothing in his FF account. Fortunately thought to check some other accounts and all those bookings have vanished as well. Clearly a Qantas problem, so going to sleep and hopefully in the morning all will be restored!

Had a similar stress this morning, when all five of my upcoming bookings weren't showing. Checked the kidlet's account, and hers weren't showing either. Phew!
Seems to be sorted now.

21st is Solstice/Equinox in each quarter. Strictly speaking the 21st marks the true seasons. That's what we learnt at school.

All seems under control - wedding dress is hanging from a hook in the ceiling of Master FM's old bedroom. (It is really big!) I am sure there will be some dramas - doesn't every wedding have them :)

Hopefully bad weather now and sunny at Easter. We have a fallback at Berry of being able to have the ceremony inside if needs be. I will be seriously miffed if it is though, as Ms FM didn't want the ceremony in the usual place as it wasn't green enough, so I am paying $6,000 to have a cover put on a pond, so she can walk over it to where she wanted it to be. Not to mention another thousand for rose petals to walk over. I am hiding these sorts of costs from Mr FM, as he would not to be happy. :). Neither am I but she is normally so good about money, but this wedding thing seems to have resulted in a personality change!

True seasons? Like all 4 seasons in Melbourne in a day?

Melbourne lately had dry spell with it pelting down in Sydney and Brisvegas/GC in the same period. I actually cancelled a trip to NTL because the weather is horrible up north.

Currently in NZ and my friends adamant today is first day of autumn- they are wrong
