She had said ok. I wasn't offering my own repairer. She wanted it repaired at Lexus. I wasn't disagreeing. If she had changed her mind all she had to do was send text or email of her intentions. That's not a lot to expect.

Anyway not to worry now she has gone through her insurance and I have asked her insurance to send us the quote. I will decide later what I will do. But something tells me the quote is now going to ge higher but so be it.

And by the way I would have helped out if someone had asked me they didn't want to go through insurance. That what makes me different.

Agree re the text or email.
If you have an expensive luxury car you wouldn't go out of your way to go claim separate to your insurance though if someone else crashed into it. That would be very, very foolish in the long run.
There's helping out and there's being taken for a ride....

Does anyone know the cheapest way for 2 adults and 7 month to get in to Sydney Easter Show? Any discounts around?

A bit late. There was a approx 10% discount if online purchase was completed by April 5
In any case here is a news article on possible savings
11 ways to save on the Sydney Royal Easter Show

Savings are minimal.
Online purchases incur a $2.55 handling fee. Though I dont know what is "handled" online....
Interesting the Woolies showlink tickets

Suggest 7 month old will probably only last half a day. So maybe get a twilight ticket for after 4pm - for rides and fireworks. However the downside is the animals exhibit also go to sleep be late afternoon.

I noticed earlier that Woolworths sold tickets for $37.35 for each adult. Sounds like a good deal. I am assuming this includes public transport to/from Easter Show.

Don't plan on being there too long and won't be doing any rides. Maybe some showbags. The little one has a lot of energy and if she wants to sleep she sleeps in the pram quite easily.

There's no cheap way to attend the Easter show with kids. Just sell your kidney now and accept you will be paying $12 for a giant plastic glass that they won't finish drinking with a swirly straw.

Her grandmother can pay for those things. Her dad's too stingy. ;)

Thanks Quickstatus. I was looking for something to do Saturday afternoon and the Easter show sounds like a good idea. I will let the wife decide.

Took Master 5 to the free version at Moore Park - free Parking for 2 hours and had everything he was interested in. Saved a little under $100 on entry fees which could be spent there instead.

<snip>

Today we receive a letter from Lexus Insurance and a claim form. No quote. Good to see the need to fix her car was greater than the desire not to destress an older man for no reason.

Perhaps Lexus didn't give her an option to get a quote. A courtesy SMS or email would have been nice? "Sorry but Lexus won't give me a quote so I have to proceed with a claim!"....

What do you know of the distress of the other party, who, minding their own business, had some-one else run into them? No damage to your father's car, but damage to theirs - I think I know where the 'distress' would be.

The other party will be inconvenienced by repairs, being without vehicle for a while, etc. Your father it seems hasn't been inconvenienced, with no damage to his car, and handing the 'paperwork' to you.

And yet here you are complaining that they've gone about rectifying the situation to their satisfaction and convenience, not yours. Put yourself in their shoes and let us know what you see.

Firstly it's my car. Secondly I didn't use the word distress.

Her words, not mine. "I am not going to destress an older man for no reason I just need my car fixed"

What's your interpretation?

Rugby: Aust V Scotland, June 17th

Never been to a Scotland game so might have to go, considering we're going to Scotland last year.

And Ive done so many walk of shames at an All Black game... will be nice to actually have a chance in seeing a winning Wallabies team :)

Sigh.

Our house vendor has decided to play a little bit of silly buggers over planned settlement dates. Wanting it brought forward so they can escape an extra two weeks of their mortgage. Or wanting us to pay an extra $1,000 to cover same.

They don't have an agent, and no agent would ever make that sort of request I am sure.

We have politely declined, on the basis we simply can't alter the timelines which also effect OUR buyer.

We have them over a bit of a barrel really as they have no other prospective offers, so I don't think they could do much by way of complaint.

All the same, I prefer my dealings to be unemotional and uncomplicated, and this complication is not welcome.

Perhaps your buyer would like early access and pay you rent? You certainly don't owe the vendor a thousand bucks - nice try buddy.

Hahaha. We want to inconvenience you and if you dont accept the inconvenience, you can give us $1K.

Too much home show watching results in cheeky buyers.
