Looking at Las Vegas for later in the year.Need a few more SPG nights so looking at the hotel reviews. The 4 Points has this quote from a guest-
"The most notable part of my experience at this hotel is the staff. They are very hospital and make real connections with the guests, myself included. "
Sounds like they follow the UA version of customer contact.

Ditto, always pack the disposable rain ponchos. Have never needed them.

Ditto.

I also pack a plastic dry-cleaning cover in the front of the suitcase (the ones that come when you pick up your dry-cleaning). Perfect for wet weather if you have to walk a bit, or stand waiting for a taxi/train. The little hole in the top of the bag slots over the luggage handle and the bag slides over the case.

I always have heaps of these bags, all of my clothes are hung with these covers. (live on dirt road)

How do people react when they know that twins (or triplets, or n-uplets) are expected?

Is it much different to a single child?

Just curious - I'm not a dad.

This is more for post-birth situations with twins/multiples; I'll have to find one of the parents of twins memes on FB. I have an aunt who has had twins, and friends with twins. People are obsessed with asking whether the twins are identical - even when the twins are a boy and a girl. There's all manner of other mostly benign but annoying comments and questions. People also ask some quite invasive questions, as well. Not that I can remember what those questions are, but it's quite amazing.

Preparation wise - well, after having two single pregnancies, I think my aunt said having triplets would prepare you for twins. :P

Our experience went something like this

Being first time parents we approached our first ultrasound with some nervous trepidation mixed with excitement

All going well until....

Ultrasound operator: Oh!

Wife(in a concerned voice): oh what?

Ultrasound operator: there's two!

Wife (in a very panicked voice): TWO WHAT!?

Me: I think she means babies

Ultrasound operator: Did you not know you were having twins?

I remember tears for about two days following as we worried how we would cope but we have two wonderful boys who are now about to turn 18

Prolly gotta go within next week - fly via SYD / BNE then fly direct - via MCY then drive? Was kinda hoping somebody does / has done this regularly.

Where are you staying ?? Peppers has gone down hill - so much so it is no longer a Peppers !

Fraser Coast Airport Hervey Bay QLD WebFids shows all flights - looks like its Qantas link

if you fly into Maroochydore - you will have to drive to Hervey Bay - and it is a two hour drive. We were last there in February.

There's a direct flight from SYD.

You could also drive from BNE if the flight schedules are more to your liking. It's around 300kms.

Trying to work out what to do about laptop; issue appears to be the connection to the screen. If you give the hinge a gentle tap the screen comes back on.
DJs arent interested as its over 12 month old, and more so because they no longer have Dick Smith selling computers in store. I guess Toshiba is my next port of call. Pretty unimpressed that a not quite 2 year old laptop has failed and no one is obligated to repair it.

When Masters was going out of business their were plenty of signs mentioning the manufacturer guarantee and Australian Consumer Law.

Does the receipt use a DJ's ABN?

Should have gone straight to Toshiba.

The MS Surface 4s are on sale ATM since the 5 (4.5) will be out soon so 4s are available at fair prices.

And just a mention, if you are going to HB a road trip to the Bundy Rum factory store if you have spare time and turtle nesting and hatching at Mon Repos (booking a must)
