I also remember my first trip to Tasmania and filling up my car.

I drove into the service station, stopped my car and proceeded to exit the car and was frightened by a strange man standing at the door.
Me: What are you doing?
Him: Filling up your car?
Me: WHY?
Him: Because its my job.

Back in the old days, they use to have petrol pump attendants still.

Still got some servos in our town that do fill up for you!

You think? Only last year I saw a guy peeing against a wall at Angkor Wat and spitting inside an airport in China.
The same guy? What a coincidence.

By the way we've witnessed tourists spitting indoors at a Thai BBQ buffet in Chiang Mai and in the foodhall at BKK airport. And these were not western tourists and they're from the same country. You start to see a pattern emerging?

Went to my very first home showings... I'm exhausted. And I wasn't even buying, just being a sticky beak to compare to what we own in the area, to sell or not.

Who here finds that, when following a recipe, it always takes more time to complete it compared to the time stated on the recipe?

If so, how much more time do you find it takes?

I estimate I always take between 20 - 60% more time than that stated on the recipe.

Depends. My personal rule is any recipe that I'm to buy more than 2 things I don't have in the pantry, I don't make it.

I like simple recipes. I don't have time to find special pepper grown on Arnhem land and harvested on the full moon (waiter at Aria once said when I asked about the menu).

Tomorrow I'm making parmesen herb chicken in the slow cooker tomorrow.

Yes, obviously, especially the first time when one finds that one has not quite read the recipe properly. If you repeat it then you'll get closer to the original.

For fun, try some of the Julia Child recipes in Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Remember to add extra butter!:)

The first couple times maybe, but as I become familiar with the process I get pretty close.

It can depend but I find they're generally close but rely on you having everything out on the bench, having read through the recipe and are proficient in the techniques required and multitasking on recipes.

Bread dough rising NEVER follows the recipe time estimates...

I may have missed it, Flying Mermaid, but wasn't there a wedding on recently??? Hope it went well.
It was absolutely perfect :) The weather was very kind to us and everything just flowed. We stayed at the venue for two nights and that was a good idea as it made the day of the wedding very relaxed. The day before the people staying at the venue enjoyed each other's company and then we went into Berry and met up with others who were staying elsewhere - a very informal dinner for around 45 people at the Berry Hotel - nice food.

On the day the female contingent hung out in the Bridal Salon and lots of fun and giggling and bubbly and the guys went off into Berry for some more drinks and then agreed to all sorts of photos. :) (Mr FM and friend did all the photos.).

Here are some of the flowers and I will put up some of the people - having to hack into them to get the size down :)

Some people photos as well - absolutely can't fault Jaspers Berry - what they did with the flowers was amazing. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was great!

All over now :)

Now that I have some time, I plan to sit down with a cuppa (or should that be some bubbly) and enjoy the Trip report - hope it all went well - sure it did :)

They all looked gorgeous FM and the mother of the bride looked it as well. :) The dress colour is really lovely. Glad to hear everything was perfect for MsFM's special day.

Love those natural autumn colours with the flowers. Gorgeous wedding party.
