Sigh....

We politely told our agent the 18th was bad for us, and yesterday we were advised the 26th was now the agreed date for settlement.

Goodo?

Nope.

Just got another email to say we're back to the 18th, as the buyer has a family event on the weekend of the 26th, so it's inconvenient for her.

Seriously.

It shouldnt really matter if the buyer has an event, they dont even need to be there for settlement. Its not like they actually have to move in that day.

Are we talking this .....

Cassie Sainsbury: Cocaine accused’s family arrive in Bogota, Colombia

For me, the strangest thing about this Cassie/Columbia drug situation is her family.

Its taken what, 6 weeks before someone finally got on a plane (on 60mins dime) to get to her, to ask her if she needed anything. And even then, the "fiance" is still at home.

My husband couldnt get stuck at Coles with a flat battery without me driving there to see him.

The family is as weird as the Corbys.

The buyer or their representative will need to do a final inspection to ensure that everything is intact as per the contract. They'll need to see that it is vacant and take possession of the keys.

Expect a request for an inspection a few days before settlement and maybe again immediately prior.

If things aren't as they expect then they may wish to either delay or withdraw from the contract. Rare but not unknown,

Final inspection can take place a couple of days prior to settlement. This allows for any minor defects to be fixed in time.

The settlement agent can take possession of the keys on their behalf.

The buyers of our place may be in for a shock as the empty house makes some of its issues more obvious than when it was furnished (eg water damage in the bathroom and patchy carpets under beds).... its as it was when sold though so not much they can do about it.

Aldi lock up manuka honey jars to deter sweet-toothed thieves

An Aldi supermarket in Melbourne's west has implemented extreme security measures to stop sweet-toothed thieves from swarming in and stealing jars of honey.
A jar of Manuka Honey, which sells for $9.99 at the German supermarket chain, has been spotted inside a locked plastic case at an Aldi store in Braybrook.

We have four ays from when we return from Japan to have the place cleaned and cleared. Plus we don't have a place to go yet technically. Waiting on approval for new loan, and hopeful the people we're buying from will allow us in prior to settlement.

Otherwise we'll be squeezing into mum's park home. Do not want that.

I think they dont have the money to scrape together. Moana isnt exactly an affluent area, Mum and Dad separated with him living in the country. Maybe they didnt even have passports. Travel is expensive and not everyone can afford it. They certainly dont come across as having two dimes to rub together. On the other hand her story is nonsensical. Just when we thought we had done with Corby another pops along.

But one thing that does irk me is that the media only focuses on pretty white young females. How about everyone else that lands in trouble os?

Yes, but unfortunately the 'not having a place to move into' isnt the buyer's issue esp once settlement is set.

Me too ! Currently I am addicted to watching Jo and Chip in Texas renovate old houses

Im partial to UK Relocation Relocation and aussie Selling Homes Australia.

The aussie Grand Designs guy just makes me want to punch him in the face while screaming, 'Just finish the sentence quickly, will you!'
