The totally off-topic thread

I don't use auto correct. Some of the time predictive text gives awful suggestions.

French class today. We always open up by talking about our previous week.

One of our fellow students is a public servant and told us that this week that she wrote a policy and a strategy document.

Trying to translate those kinds of words in French is a nightmare. We then proceeded to try and explain what are the differences between a policy, a strategy, an implementation plan and a whole bunch of other bureaucratic terms. In French, there are really only a few words to describe that mess of words; most of the time, meaning relies on context rather than relying on a precise word of translation.

I guess that is one way to put a dent in your pile of money in the bank mrs.dr.ron
We are all thinking travel and he wants bedrooms.

Yes - I reckon that's the issue with a few posters. Even drron's posts look a bit flaky sometimes and the grammar police would have a field day - not looking at you JT!
Don't worry, I leave grammar discussion to the grammar thread. I am not keen on picking on someone just for the sake of it.

You have to stop thinking it's meant to be a salad.

It's like the bread roll - it has almost no significance.

If you want a real salad, order it off the small plates.

Yes I would be shocked if I got a Caesar Salad.
Watch out you might get a kale salad if you complain.

Nothing too wrong with kale. I realise it is a divisive vegetable, along with brussel sprouts, coriander, parsnip....

Bought a humidifier and now it looks like a 80s rock video, with all the "steam". Hopefully it'll make a difference tonight.

Got a $20 discount because the box was slightly damaged. :)

We had to have a humidifier for the kids. I have memories of damp damp damp.

Reminds me of when I was working in Guinea, the only French word we could find for 'safety' was 'sécurité'

Not noticing the damp as even the warm mist isn't hot steam.I expected it to be like the facial steamer we use for chest/phlegm ect but it's not. Hopefully, it'll make the air less dry, which will help our sinus. Will see in a couple of nights, if it makes a difference.

Lots, actually. If it doesn't have 'eyes', one should avoid eating it or at least be wary. :)

Ps: and don't forget Cauliflower is the 'next, superfood.

I laugh about kale becoming a super food. My Italian father would treat them as weeds.

Someone labels something a "super food", and people lose theirs minds over it.

I've always liked cauliflower, steamed with a bit of butter and salt. Yummy.

Every morning this week we've both been waking up with dry chest cough and blocked Sinus. During the day, both disappear. Thinking of getting a humidifier for the room to see if that elevates the problems.
I always use one when Mr FM has a cold - he definitely gets a much better night's' sleep. Used it for the kids and then moved onto Mr FM after they left home.
