A couple of days ago I responded to an add promising 3 Solar panel installation quote. I only had one firm call me back and after asking very minimal questions called me back again and sent me a quote, with the following info.
.
Company name: Eurosolar
System size: 5KW
Inverter: Solax single phase (despite asking and being advised whether my home has single or 3 phase power. (It has 3 phase to power the 5.5KvA heat pump)
Panels: 18 255-275watt polycrystalline
Price: $4,900 less STC rebates

Does anyone know of installations by Eurosolar?
I assume all materials to be used are sourced from PRC.
They have include an import/export meter cost, but I don't know how that works when I have 3 phase in but only 1 phase out.
My rooves face east, west and south, so I assume they would only use the west facing roof.

I think it was a very generic quote as the lady who called me calculated the cost on the spot, from my address, an estimate of the average electricity usage and the phase question.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. TIA

Managed to secure the last 2 nights accommodation I needed on KI that didnt give me the impression I need to wear thongs in the shower.

Thanks for the recommendations for the Playford hotel in Adelaide, it looks good so will hunt for a deal and maybe splurge a bit.

Edit. My very first Air BNB.

There is hope for everything to happen in this world, this post is proof.

Congratulations, did you keep the boarding pass to make sure you would get your SCs.
Price match to TT so no bundle.

P.S. Looking at some JQ airfares one could easily price match to VA and QF.

Have a read on Whirlpool (see threads like Euro Solar Vs True Value Solar - Solar - Green tech - Whirlpool Forums), and you will find Eurosolar may not be your choice.

Having 3 phase power doesn't require a 3 phase solar inverter. Power is basically used across all 3 phases, and the meter nets feed in and consumption. So you can be generating on one phase, using 1/3 of the power and exporting 2/3 to the grid, then importing the same amount on the other 2 phases, and the meter will just see a net zero. As your solar has to shut down if the power is off (unless you are going a much more expensive set up with isolation, batteries etc.), it doesn't really matter.

The main reason for using a 3 phase inverter when on 3 phase power is balancing voltages, and the amount being fed back on any given phase. If you have long connections, or dodgy power, then splitting the feed across 3 phases causes less issues than trying to load the same power on a single phase.

Thanks very much for the info equus.

I saw a mention of this on the local news a while back & another option on an email this morning-no opinion on either but something to read

I'd be avoiding Eurosolar if I was you.

You need to get details on the equipment. I did plenty of research when I purchased and settled on SMA inverters and REC panels - 5 years down the track it hasn't missed a beat.

It's not even as fun as it sounds.

Hope things improve quickly for your daughter GarretM.She certainly captured a few hearts from your Japan TR.Hopefully not related to the last night in Japan adventures.

And now parents can't say No to their kids so we have to tell packagers not to have cartoons on their packaging. Gosh. I can recall many a tantrum when I wouldn't let the kids have what they wanted but didn't give up. I guess many of the younger generation doesn't have No as part of their vocab.

Woohoo! Mandarin Oriental is coming to Melbourne :D

Nocookies | The Australian

Luxury Hong Kong hotelier Mandarin Oriental has beaten other big name hoteliers such as The Peninsula Group and Aman Resorts in the race to open for business in Australia.

The Jardine Matheson Group-backed hotel is finally putting its stamp on an opulent hotel and residential project to be developed in Melbourne’s heart.

The Asian-controlled hotel group which operates 29 hotels around the world along with eight residences in 19 countries and territories has signed a management contract to operate a new luxury hotel and branded residences in Melbourne’s Collins Street.

The 185-metre tower in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD and near the city’s legal district was designed by the late award-winning architect Dame Zaha Hadid and is expected to become a city landmark.

The hotel will feature 196 rooms and suites as well as 148 residences which will be managed by the hotelier. On completion in 2023, the residences on the upper floors of the tower, will be billed as some of the most luxurious private homes on offer in the southern city, according to a statement.

The developer is the Landream Group which is also developing in a joint venture with Macrolink the Opera Residences in Sydney’s Bennelong Point, as well as apartments in the Sydney suburb of Beecroft.

Mandarin Oriental group chief executive James Riley said the new hotel and residences was a “welcome addition to the brand’s growing global portfolio.”

I hope it doesn't happen too often. I feel for you. I remember years ago being in a 24 hour medical clinic in the middle of the night thinking my toddler had an ear infection as she'd woken a couple of times that night screaming. When we looked back on the incident and compared it to other things that had happened we realised it was night terrors.

I certainly rolled my eyes at the article.

The Obesity Policy Colition is an interesting beast. Clearly annoyed that the codes around advertising to children don't extend to packaging so can't make Ad Standards Complaints like they otherwise would.
