If you had to stay overnight in Adelaide, which hotel would you choose?

Thinking I need something nice, after the coughpy accommodation Im stuck with at Kangaroo Island (left booking a bit late)

That is dangerously ON-topic for this forum. Do you have any chain loyalty?

My last 2 stays in Adelaide I stayed at the Paringa Hotel, I think it was $116 a night, funnily enough I got the same room a week apart.

Hilton is good but I wouldn't pay over $200 a night for it; maybe $250 if you could include lounge.

Nice! A friend was in that area so spent a bit of time there. As I was a Uni student, I was initially around Riccarton/ Ilam but the last few years were in Addington - just over the railway line, close to Moorhouse and after the jail closed!

Had a brief stint in Riccarton, and worked in Addington, and spent a fair bit of time there hanging out at my mates house.

No, the weather was nicer :p

I've had a lot of friends stay in the Mayfair and they said it was excellent and their restaurant is excellent unlike the Hilton's (I wrote a letter of complaint after the last visit and never heard from them - am I bitter - yep)

Anyway - others would be the Playford - always good.

If you want good restaurants go to Peel St (the restaurant Peel St is in Peel St but there are a number of other good restaurants in the street) or Press.

Oh yes, Playford has been nice when we have stayed.

Funnily enough Denali I was looking at exactly the same thing earlier today and Mayfair is on top of my list.

Well there were others but they were out of Adelaide and cost a lot of money per night!

Adelaide prices are much more expensive that they should be.

On arriving at Narita we filled out our customs and immigration forms and joined the queue. Young american lady and partner in front spent the whole time in the queue texting on their phones, even though signs said 'no cameras', and 'no phones'. There was a person checking the forms before you get to the counters, the performance of the young lady when questioned why they hadn't completed the forms was up there with the best DYKWIA that I've seen. Didn't help them though, they still had to stop, go to a bench and fill out forms, meanwhile we happily zoomed past. Some people! or maybe I'm just getting old.

I ticked the immigration form question 'Are you bringing drugs into Japan?' I had medication drugs with me. I mean what sort of question is that. Is someone carrying illegal drugs going to fess up? Anyway the roving woman looked at my form and asked what sort of drugs, and then crossed off my tick.

We usually stay at the Playford - it has always been nice and has a lovely breakfast buffet.
