.... Maybe because of her neediness she was extremely compassionate and empathic to those who likewise were incredibly 'needy'.....
Yes, the poor girl was thrown into the deep end at the beginning...

I agree, it was a very different time back then but we were all different back then.

Re chocolate. My husband likes the new mango & white chocolate cream but would like it to be made with a milk chocolate.

We have a Lindt outlet not far from where we live and hes tried most of the flavours by now.

Yes, the poor girl was thrown into the deep end at the beginning. We met her ( and Charles) when they visited Australia when William was a baby.

I watched the funeral with a box of tissues and a bottle of wine - cried my eyes out !!!
Oh, me too. I had to watch it in the bedroom as I knew I couldnt cope with it all and ended up with such a headache. Elton John, English Rose, oh my.

I guess I never mentioned I was nominated years ago for a competition in SA for Lookalike Diana? we were both pretty much the same age and wore our hair the same way, same colouring, build etc and we both had a habit of blushing bright red cheeks. I was also shy and with a large fringe, somewhat socially awkward and well, you get the drift. I declined but dont think my hairdresser ever forgave me.

I went to high school over the weekend, my highschool was having its 75th anniversary.

Not a lot had changed, although they had installed a lift and made more wheel chair accessible paths.

One change was Japanese had replaced German as a 2nd foreign language, French was still being taught.

The tennis court had been moved and had been replaced by a music hall.

School was at its peak attendance wise in the mid 80s when I was there, all the larger buildings have remained all the demountables were removed.

Now to stay alive until 2042 for the 100 year anniversary.

For Diana's death and funeral we were holidaying in Cairns. Our son,22 at the time, joined us.For the funeral he decided to go to the Casino. He was back in about 20 minutes as there was no atmosphere with only 3 patrons.

Diana's dead and gone 20 years. Recent news item about events she would missed had she been alive is just weird. Presuming what the dead would have thought is not what I would call journalism but I suppose what some want to read about.

I remember the day like it was yesterday. The missus wanted to buy a flash new car so we were in a car dealership, she overheard another couple talking, that was that - no new car :D

You're a month too early. It was 31 August 1997.

Anyone have any experience with Dad and Partner pay? I took 3-4 weeks unpaid leave when daughter was born. I think I am eligible but not sure if overseas birth will make me ineligible. Need to apply before the baby is 52 weeks.

Apparently current payment is $695/week for maximum 2 weeks. Off to Human Services today to check.

Yes, 2 weeks maximum from HS. You must apply for both weeks at the same time in the same application form. I'm not sure if the weeks have to be consecutive though. (I did consecutive)

We'll visit Brisbane DFO next weekend out of curiosity.

Did you know there's two? One near the airport, and one out at Jindalee. As an inner Northsider, I've only been to the airport one.

Wow - I went to my old high school, too, as the kidlet will be starting there in a few years. It has changed so much! New buildings, the house that used to be in the middle of the "campus" is gone, a new indoor multipurpose court, two storey library ... I was in one room which I distinctly remember sitting in one day in 1989 and scratching my back (later that week i was diagnosed with chicken pox). The only thing that would be the same about that room is the door frames, and the brick walls - but they've been painted over!

Japanese, German, and French are all offered - and I ran into my old German teacher, and she remembered me! There's also approx. 400 more students at the school than when I was there.

Out of curiosity, did those German lessons ever come in handy?

I learnt french at school for 4 years - all I can say now is, open the window / shut the door (or mouth)/ I have a ham and cheese sandwich/ please  definitely not enough to get you around rural france !!!!
