This is Stan. Stan is in his mid forties. Stan has decided to tell Australia how naive he is by telling his story on Today Tonight. Stan bought a Volvo that had 250,000 k on the dial. He paid $1300 from a used car dealer. But then took out an extended warranty for an extra $3,000. The warranty stated that it only covered cars doing less than 125,000 k. Stan believed the used car salesman who said the insurance company would still pay out. Stan paid the extra money. A few days later he changed his mind and wanted to cancel the policy. The policy states it can be cancelled but does not state there will be a refund of premiums. Stan has done his dough and now we all know about it.

How did Stan get a licence? And why is he allowed out on his own?

Last week it took me 90 minutes to get home from the airport due to night roadworks

Me too but coming back from Melbourne Aerodrome Sitylink is still at ......! Widening the Tulla freeway and putting up tollway fares !!!

I am over it long time ago

For me? Roundup.

I do enjoy pulling weeds out of the lawn but have far too many at the moment so its the killing fields at home.

A relative of mine indiscriminately sprayed that stuff around ( unprotected) died of bladder cancer!! Don't want to burst your bubble and my study is not scientific ie one person !

Is the mark of a good teacher strongly defined by how many of their students obtain an A?

Or a A+ for that matter?

Nether the less good question

I was so thinking of Netflix type Stan .... was wondering about a TV licence ? But heck Stan is the Man or it ( Gender neutral ) don't get me started!!!

Installed some DIYweather stripping on our bedroo windows today. Definitely seems to have cut the noise somewhat. Will see if it keeps the room a little warmer overnight, not to mention stops some of the daily condensation we seem to be getting every morning.

Wow, that happens in Australia?! Here I was thinking it was something unique to the UK (or colder climates at least)... never experienced it back in Oz!

Once had some Swedish students on sabbatical in SYD in July. They rented a house for 3 months. The surprising comment was the house was very cold . I said it's normal for houses to not be properly heated nor insulated... one would think they are immune to the cold

Not really as they do heating really well - just to the right temp too, unlike UK where it tends to be too warm. Underfloor heating over radiators will win me over every time!

Most continental Europeans complain about our poorly built and poorly insulated homes.

Bit of fog around MEL this morning.

The son of a friend is married to an Icelandic lass and they were going to settle in Canberra close to his parents. In the end they went back to Iceland as the wife found the houses too cold and there were too many trees. Makes it an expensive exercise for the friends to visit the grandchildren though they've been a few times.

Our old weatherboard place was always damp inside overnight. Bad ventilation.

I have a poly tank with a battery powered pump attached . Sits on the quad Bike and tubes attached to the arena rake pulled by the quad Joe. Fill the 50L tank with roundup- then spray the horse riding arena. Quick

Or he could have been genetically inclined to have cancer?

Not unlike many here who see the need the clear their little block of land to build the biggest house they can on the plot. (Though done on their behalf by the developer)

My husband and his bloody trees are now causing havoc with our house and costing us money to get rid off. Im all for grass and greenery but smart planting please.
