Well happy dance at work last night, checked my phone on my break and had a text from Qantas, my upgrade has come through for Wednesday's MEL-HKG flight (Y-J).

Was able to log in a get a good seat and now I'm home have just changed my meal.

Many of you know that our daughter, SIL and 2 kids are travelling the world housesitting. They are currently in Mexico and have been travelling since Jan last year.

We are on a cruise at the moment and on Saturday we got the phone call and then made the call that they have dreaded since they left Australia.

Their baby, our tiny toy poodle Pepsi, passed away that morning.

Our daughter wrote:
Leaving her in Australia was a hard decision, but we did so knowing that she was with my Mum and Dad who loved her just as much as us (she'd already been living with them a lot while I worked.)

We were fortunate enough to return in April and October 2017 and my baby was soooo excited to see me... a moment I'll now treasure forever.

We've seen her on Skype every few days, but at 15 years of age, she was blind, deaf and had no teeth left...

We will love you forever Pepsi.

Ticketmaster and Ticketek IME both artificially manipulate ticket sales to con people into thinking certain events are selling out quick.

Maybe I only buy tickets to the big ticket events but they usually sell out pretty damn quick without any manipulation.
You can tell if it really is a quick sell as their telephone and internet systems crash :!:

Pushka you fix that by moving up to business class on the A330 so you never see it again.

Or go the other extreme. I'll be in 41A tomorrow PER-MEL, and the same seat on the return flight Wednesday. I like to board early, and for a flight of this duration I am highly unlikely to get out of my seat until we land.

Go the Socceroos.

Typical glorious September weather on the coast.Only interrupted by Victorians taking their caravans back home.Reminds me of when we first lived on the coast when a fellow was on local radio. He had been a truck driver in regional QLD for 40+ years.Asked what he was going to do in retirement-Buy the biggest caravan I can afford and drive round and round Victoria very slowly.

Why are people who board early and sit in the aisle seat surprised when others turn up to sit in the window/middle seats?
They are hoping for shadow?

I boarded SYD-BNE flight last Sunday and was one of last to board. I was in 5D and a lady was sitting in my seat. I was waiting people in front and thinking of what to say. As I approached I said "Excuse me, I think you are in my seat" to which she replied "I know" and was moving some things from seat pocket to middle seat. She may have into aisle seat hoping it was vacant.

I didn't think it was possible for QLD drivers to go any slower than they already do

All the hide of a rhinoceros would seem appropriate for a certain Perth Lord Mayor. Appeal Lisa appeal would be a little voice in her head!
She appears to be out on September 7th so we ratepayers won't need to cover her clothes, hairdos and private dining maybe for 18 months.

That is sad to read. I am sure you will miss her though she sounded like she had a wonderful life with you.

Just purchased tickets to The Book of Mormon for their Sydney shows thru ticketmaster. Have receipt, but the file to print the tickets is not opening.....

I've found it can take an hour or so for the ticket to be viewable

GarrettM I feel certain my eldest is going to that Socceroos game too. Not too sure who he is flying with.....probably Virgin if he left it to one week before the game. He may have used my points too.

They're all heading back in time for the footy finals and before the prices get tripled for school holidays......

Yes this little excursion has been in planning for a few months. I suspect it was MrsCove's points balance that was raided though. MrsGM was very kind to let me go for one night. I'm sure I'll regret it come Wednesday though.
