Funny thing has happened to my Samsung S5 and it may well be a virus or a recent software update.

I have screen rotation set to enabled. If battery power goes down to 35%, 15% and 5% a dialogue appears and it switches off screen rotation. Sometimes the dialogue gives me the option to adjust screen rotation myself but most times it just disables screen rotation.

I want screen rotation enabled at all times. Is there a way to turn off this stupid power saving feature?

Yes. Simples. Buy an iPhone! :)

Fourth most expensive building IN THE WORLD. Insanity.

So? In a few years, the cost will have been forgotten.

Federation Square in Melbourne is a good example. In the early noughties the media was full of "massive cost overruns", "Kennett's folly", monstrosity of space", "waste of space", "no-one will use it", the minister should resign", etc etc etc.

Today it's a vibrant space heavily used by the population, a vital part of any festival or celebration in the CBD. A Melbourne icon.
Good lord, how ugly were the previous Gas & Fuel buildings knocked down to create the Square.
No-one remembers all the bulls$$t negativity of the naysayers and whingers.

And so it will be for your new hospital.

I have this quotation on the wall of my office; attributed to John Ruskin, it reads

“It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little.
"When you pay too much, you lose a little money — that is all.
"When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.
"The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done.
"If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better."

Nothing to add to your question but I have an iPhone and I hate screen rotation so have screen lock set. Only occasionally do I turn it off, can't stand it. Drives MrLtL nuts though as anytime he uses my phone the screen doesn't rotate like he is used to.:)

It's costing a million dollars a day to repay until 2045. That doesn't include clinical services.

We did need to do something about the old RAH. It was horrible. But not helped when they closed off wards and cramming people (men and women) into 6 bed wards served by one bathroom. That was vomit inducing when I had to use it. I ended up walking out of the ward and into the visitors bathroom in the main area. People can be disgusting.

I didn't even know this was a power saving feature, though suffice to say I always locked the orientation (I only turned it off when I really wanted it landscape).

There might, or should, be an option to disable any and all kinds of power saving features, so they will not activate even if you are on low battery. Having not used Samsung or Android for a while, I'm not sure off by heart where to go to find that setting, but I'm sure I've run my Android device on full before until it has run out of power, ignoring all warnings along the way.

Some features of some apps cannot be circumvented similarly. For example, I know that when the power gets quite low (I think < 15%) the camera flash will not function, even though you could probably make out at least one or two flash shots out of a relatively healthy battery at 15%.

Oh get off with this Royal fetishising. Sheesh.

You're just jealous :)

I remember after watching the last Royal Wedding, 18-something young bloke made a similar comment; espoused the republican cause. My retort:

Our side has Pippa Middleton's bottom. What have your lot got? Malcolm Turnbull?

Left him slack-jawed and completely destroyed!

I'm a Republican. I think an Australian should be head of state. Good grief we bluster about dual citizenship being an issue in Parliament lately but our head of state is a Brit? Ironic much.

I think when the Queen passes the swell for a Republic will build. I detest Charlie and Cammie.

Not at all. Never wanted to marry a royal. And, WTF has some sexist reference to some inbread aristocratic bum got to do with the issue?

And before we get there, spare us from any references to the ex-wife of the current heir.
